They won’t launch a classic+ when SoD is still running as it is the beta.

yup, They would have continued SoD into TBC if they were doing Classic +, it’s not happening. SoD is dead, Fresh realms are going to kill it.

Yes its disappointing.
I might just level a char to 60 on Fresh and let him collect dust until BC since I didn’t play BC/Wrath after 2019
No doubt there will be a classic+, but as stated didn’t expect them to announce while SOD is still running.
Might hear something next year and that will probably for a 2026 date at best.

Depends on if they put the Token in, What stopped me from playing TBC/Wrath the first go around, (The boost/mount when BC launched was writing on the wall)
Re-releases and Fresh is cheap to do. It seems Blizzard’s 2025 Classic play is to maintain the existing audience for very low cost.
By March we are looking at Classic consisting of MoP and 5 month old fresh servers. That’s the 2025 lineup.

Agreed. We all wanted Classic + and were just told to play something else. I mean, who was asking for fresh??! We already heave Classic servers and they’re terrific.

Depends on your definition of what “Classic+” is.
To some, the new QoL stuff they’re putting in the fresh servers constitutes a conservative form of Classic+. I think they could go a step further and implement a few other things (dual spec, spec tweaks, some fun new items, etc.) and that would be a very compelling Classic+ implementation that doesn’t totally upend what I find attractive about the base game.
In contrast, something like SoD, to me, isn’t Classic+; it’s a bunch of retail-esque abilities, content, and mechanics shoehorned into the vanilla game. I wasn’t a fan, and I’m still not.

They couldn’t even fix the biggest issue that kills classic every time with pvp gearing and weapons and these people think they’re going to do a classic + right lol
Not gonna lie. I’d rather see SoD reroll than what they’re doing now. Classic already has servers and they’re active. What this is about, I’ve no idea…they could just let people graduate to newly created Classic-TBC servers from the Classic servers we already have versus relaunching ‘not-so-fresh Classic’ all over again which will only harm the established servers people are playing on right now.
Im glad they mention SOD isn’t going to die. They might leave the server up and running. Im ok with that.
I have zero desire to play fresh. I’ve done it twice and there is nothing new. Have fun with 11+ War raids.
