Care to tell me why the Artifact Weapon from Legion on my DK has a higher ilvl than the weapon you get from the Naz’jatar opening quest chain? Considering the Naz’jatar zone is BfA, I think any weapon from an endgame zone should be of higher ilvl, yes?
lol the Ashbringer on my Human Paladin, that is still lvl 45 has the same ilvl. Good to know I will not need to unequip my Ashbringer on that character should I decide to level her again.
The ilvl squish was done so randomly. The alt gear that you get from black empire assault that were bank now have different ilvl from one and other.
Let not talk about how 430 gear are now 80 while 460 is 100 and more.
If you aren’t heroic geared right now you cant do anything.

I have one character adventuring in Outland and another in Northrend and the quest rewards make zero sense. This was not ready and I am embarrassed for Blizzard.
On the up side, loving being back in Outland and Northrend. Northrend on the ground has been especially delightful.
A disgusting mess, that’s for sure. So many broken things going on, I swear one of my alt is broken. I still can’t see any transmog from the yak mount on one alt.

Man this is a mess. I am on an alt, a new Warlock I decided to level, and at first I decided to go to Pandaria. But then I decided that, nah, I want to take him through BfA.
However… once I told Chromie to take me back to present time, there’s no quest to start BfA stuff. I mean, no breadcrumb what so ever. The portal to Boralus in the Portal room does not even function.
This is how low level content has been for a while and it gets worse with every stat squish.
The thing is that right now level 50 is considered “low level” because the pre-patch put us in Shadowlands where level 60 is the only thing that matters.
Except we wont be able to get level 60 for a few months and we’ll be stuck in the messed up balance of low levels that Blizzard hasn’t cared about in years.
The funny thing is my old Blackblade of Shahram from Vanilla would probably do more DPS than my Ret weapon, only it doesn’t seem to actually proc for me anymore.
The weapon you got from the nazjatar quest chain was originally intended to be 400 ilvl, but elitists whined and stomped their little feet until it was nerfed. God forbid a fresh 120 should have a halfway decent weapon.
Did you start this thread to get leveling gear nerfed? It hasn’t been nerfed enough yet?
BfA and Legion are parallel as of Shadowlands. BfA is no longer “after” legion in item progression. Also, artifact weapons are funky as a result of that with the way their ilvl is derived from other items.
Legion artifacts start at ilvl 20. The first relic I got is +8ilvls from the first quests in the first zone. If your characters were at all active in legion they are likely to have much higher ilvl weapons, even if they are still leveling.
Basically they’re parallel already, even though the end zone isn’t ready yet.
I started this thread because I found it funny that a weapon I got an expansion ago is now relevant again.
The Artifact is on par with my Azerite gear on that character. lol

This is so true and so sad.
Now you can quest 1-50 in any zone, including Legion and BfA. So quest rewards, I’d assume, would be about the same, no?
So it should be. Its the Ashbringer!
Also because chromie time makes old expansions scale to 50 so even bc questing gear would be similar in ilvl at high 40s
I just brought my little rogue who is now level 16 was level 40ish before to legion because I cannot get any quest to go to Bfa and low and behold I cannot even get my artifact weapon in legion because the pickpocket ability I had is gone until I reach level 24, so yeah cannot even start the questlines there so whats the point in all this level squish and telling us we can go to all these places to adventure when we cannot . This is so broken. I want my levels back along with my abilities or at least if your taking away levels you should not be taking away the abilities we had before you squished them
This is just an unfortunate reality of how Blizzard decided to approach gear and progression in the game. I would have thought a long time ago they would have had a long term goal of where they want to take gear and progression…
Many MMO’s have avoided this sort of stat bloat and constant stat resets, but Blizz continues down this path of never ending " BIGGER NUMBERS." It will only continue to get worse.
Level 45 Paladin post-squish. I put her in Legion Chromie time. Her Ashbringer is item level 20. 
Gear available for a fresh 50 at some places is just insulting.
Basic BfA crafted items that proc blue and stuff like forged Legion trinkets and the artifact weapon from last expanion are better than stuff like the Naz quest items or even stuff people are supposed to grind out, like the PVP honor gear.
Not to mention the whole Relics of the Past or whatever that was originally going to craft ilvl 100 gear, then nerfed to ilvl 87 last PTR patch, went live as 54 trash.
sad , just sad. they need to stop doing this kind of stuff every single expac that comes up , same stuff changing stats, changing spells and abilities and that one is so bad now I have even more to contend with on my action keys which they tried to get rid of all that a couple expacs ago. Only thing so far that has been good has been the added hairdo`s in the barbershop.
