So Torghast is just a ripoff of Hades

It takes place in WoW’s version of hell, in an inescapable changing underworld dungeon, collect boons/souls at the end of a chamber, and I guess the final boss is the Jailer/Hades… the similarities are all over the place…

Yea I thought the same exact thing lol. I’m bored with it already.

Wow, you’ve figured out that WoW borrows from other stories. Impressive. So observant of you. Bravo.

It’s kind of WoW’s version of the genre, “Rogue- Like” or “Rogue-Lite” I suppose would be more accurate.

A very fun genre.

Blizzard hasnt had an original idea in decades

It’s Diablo in WoW but without gear at the end which makes it crap

You know Roguelike style games have been around for a long time before Hades, right?

They’re called Roguelike because the first big game that did that style was called Rogue.

It’s more likely to have been copied from Palace of the Dead/Heaven-on-High in FF14 than from Hades.

Though most likely it’s just the genre in general.

this isn’t god of war, go back to your console if that’s what you expect

blizzard is just trying to remind us that we should just be playing Hades instead the 2020 GotY

I find it more like Diablo 3 Rifts, and didn’t that come out before Hades?, like they literally like Diablo 3 Rifts haha

Yes because Hadez was the first rogue like game that’s set in hell… rolls eyes

Do you… Do you think Hades invented the rogue-lite genre?

If there was actual gear in Torghast the QQ would drown the forums. (Well, even more than it already is.)

You’re correct that Blizzard has no original ideas, but you’re incorrect that it’s a copy of Hades. Roguelikes have been around for ages and Hades is full of likable characters with realistic emotions and motivations.

What about that sounds like WoW?

I think the fact that there are many difference games people are claiming blizzard “stole from” gives credit to them taking inspiration from the genera as a whole more than one specific game.

Plus hearthstone has been doing the same thing for years now with dungeon run and more recently raids.

And Hades is a ripoff of <Insert every Roguelike games that came out since the resurgence of the genre 5 years ago>.

Is this a serious statement?

It’s just a WoW version of a lot of games, with the carrot on the stick being soul ash and some quest completion content. It is, so far, one of the more interesting things they’ve added and I’m fine with it. I could see getting tired of it over time though.
