So... those Company Suicide Allegations?

So was this an Activision employee or a Blizzard employee or an Activision Blizzard employee?

I am not upset about anything. I am just curious as to why you think I donā€™t agree with you. You are arguing with someone who agrees but isnā€™t wording it the same way as you. Please go find a quote from me where I said I think any individual person is guilty of anything? Name names? I will waitā€¦

We have a thread of this. So Blizz is getting sued - #24 by Roknosh-ragnaros

We donā€™t need a spam.

So you have proof that she killed herself because someone brought sex toys to a company trip?

Iā€™m impressed by your ability to believe everything you read on reddit without question. Sadly, Iā€™m not as evolved as you. I still believe in that whole innocent until proven guilty thing, unfortunately.

Ion is not directly involved with this. He has never come up in serious discussions on the subject.

I donā€™t like the guy. I think heā€™s in the wrong job and it would benefit the company if he went back to encounter design. But itā€™s highly unlikely he was directly involved in any of this.

Way to necro a 7 day old thread, where much more info has come out that this indeed was the case.

But hey, if you want to believe its all false and nothing went wrong and there was no sexual harassment going on, that there was no cosby suit, depsite a picture of prominent wow devs in said room, holding a cosby picture, almost in a mocking manner, heyā€¦you do you.

Well personally I will wait till itā€™s all final before I really say much about anything. Playing detective is just for fun

This is a civil case brought by the state involving employment conditions. The case is against Activision Blizzard. Individuals will not be sued in this case. Activision Blizzard had the responsibility to maintain a safe workplace that followed employment laws, and they failed.

yet, if individuals are found guilty in a criminal case, they can be sued on a civil case

Because it matters.

She matters.

No criminal case has been discussed. This is a civil suit against Activision Blizzard brought for violating labor standards.

Read the filing.

Iā€™m pretty sure there are criminal elements to this suit as well. Itā€™s not just civil. Blizzard as a company broke labour laws, and individuals within Blizzard broke the law as well by sexually harassing women and doing various other things.

And it sounds like there were absolutely reports made by the victims, so the name of the perpetrator is there. Iā€™m pretty sure thereā€™s going to be more to it than just this.

They are being sued for compensation to employees who lost money because of unfair treatment. Criminal penalties do not result from a civil suit like this one.

Right, which is why I said Iā€™d be surprised if this was all there was. If there were actual instances of sexual harassment and other law breaking by individuals, then I imagine there will be more private criminal cases.

Though if Blizzard as a whole takes the fall for it and doesnā€™t do anything to fix it, whew.

They were dating at the time, the toys could have been for him.

Where did they get the pictures? And did she know that pictures were being passed around?

People are just acting like this guy picked up some sex toys, found some girl, and wanted to shove all sorts of stuff in her without consent and you guys have no evidence of that actually occurring.

It isnā€™t made explicitly clear whether the supervisor she went on the company trip with was the same one. And it doesnā€™t matter if they were for him or not, it was inappropriate and clearly she didnā€™t appreciate it.

Thatā€™s what they want to try and find out, as clearly it was leaked by someone she thought she could trust. And she did know about it, as it was stated to contribute to her taking her own life - intense sexual harassment as well.

Are you making excuses to shift blame for why someone took their own life?

She said she didnt appreciate it? Not to be jerk or anything, but how would you get that from someone who is no longer around? Its all based on other peoples assumption and its kind of sick that people are using her as a means to an end.

How do you know that it contributed to her taking her own life if you cant ask her? You cant ask her if she knew it was going on, you cant ask her anything about it and all you have to go on is assumptions of the people drafting the document. That entire part is of the suit might be thrown out because its speculation.

She could have posted it to a twitter, she could have taken them, thought she was sending it to one person, and accidentally sent it to multiple people. It doesnt mean it was leaked because her accidentally sending it out to say a group of 5 guys could result with her taking her own life if she was already having issues.

This part will probably be thrown out because its speculation.

And no, im not making excuses to shift blame, im saying you guys have absolutely no clue and look at all the other reasons that it could be and you guys could be dragging her through the mud and using her to reach the end goal by putting motive where they might not be any. You cant depose her, you cant say what she was thinking, you cant do any of that. It sounds harsh, but you just cant do it. You cant sit her down in a chair and ask her why she did what she did.

Iā€™m so happy I never got into the twitter thing. I hear itā€™s just as much of a cesspool.

Twitter is
BAT SH*T CRAZY MEET BAT SH#T CRAZY

Lol. Yea just cause itā€™s free speech doesnā€™t make it usefulā€¦

How could management let the environment get so bad that an employee felt the need to kill themselves. Thatā€™s terrible.
