For years all fantasy RPGs have sexualized their characters. I donât have a problem with that. I dress some of my characters, female and male, like that sometimes. But with a huge spotlight being focused on how Blizzardâs management treated real women in the workplace like their own fantasy playthings, are you really surprised that the art team members choose to dial it back a bit for now?
Any time thereâs been marginalisation of a group of people leading to a backlash, the pendulum swings back the other way a bit before things find a new middle ground. Chill out about Alextrazaâs belly button. It will probably return when women working at Blizzard feel they can show their own without it bringing a drunken boss into their cubicle. Hopefully thatâs soon.
I wear âsexyâ mogs a lot on Honeypot but my favorite is the mage tower âdressâ. Itâs sexy but not over revealing, it leaves mystery. think I might change back to it xD
I think what Red said hits the nail on the head.
Ultimately, if a woman wants to dress sexy, do it. I hope she isnât because she is insecure and wants the attention that comes from it. Over all, I think itâs sexier being more covered up. But, do you. Aye?
Personally, I donât wear these because theyâre just uncomfortable. I prefer a nice pair of Flats, if Iâm going to wear something nice. However, if women enjoy the heels, more power to them. I canât do it.
This is âobjectificationâ?
I have one of these, but I wear leggings and/or tights with it 'cause I donât want to blind people with my bright white legs.
Or, Iâll wear really long skirts, that are loose and reach my ankles.
I have no reason to wear this 'cause I donât swim. Maybe, if I want to go into a hot tub, but I barely do that.
OK, I have to wear these 'cause of my medical condition. I find it odd that you think these are âobjectifyingâ women, though
Jeans, literally, physically hurt me.
And, if I donât have yoga pants/leggings, PJs are next.
And, I enjoy looking at men in their outfits, too.
Weâre supposed to be attracted to each other!
And, no, Iâm not just talking about straight attraction. This concerns LGBTQ+ attraction, as well, before somebody gets it twisted
I expected you to disagree with my original claim. iâve yet to convince anyone else. You didnât need to go through the list i made off the top of my head but i appreciate the effort. Yeah LGBTQ+ stuff is cool too. I donât have a problem with any of them.
Be careful 'cause insecurity works in a different way, too. I used to be insecure and forced myself to really cover up by wearing oversized shirts, jackets with hoods and wear the hood, to cover my head and baggy pants because I never felt âpretty enoughâ to be like âthe pretty girlsâ.
I learned how to self love and build up my self-confidence and tell the world âno screw you, I am beautiful!â
To be clear my point was not to stereotype women. Nor to assume all women wear those things. My point was that I believe some common items of US fashion to have been created by men for menâs pleasure and then passed off to women such that they are convinced they are choosing it because they like it. And they do like the items, thatâs fine, my point is just that the origins were sinister.
You canât change the origin of something after it was created. I used âsinisterâ because I donât know what words Blizz gives timeouts for⌠and I kinda find it sinister assuming the men were actually smart enough to pull this off.
Also i have no reason to propose a solution. My motto is âPugs arenât peopleâ and i donât really value people in real life anyway. Yâall are all just objects to me anyway, no reason to change your clothes.
And I do mean all people outside kith and kin by âyâall are all just objects to meâ. Not just women.
Everyone is hiring âdiversity and inclusionâ officers as their âtoken black personâ so if they get sued, they can say, âbut we have a token black person whoâs job it is to make sure this didnât happenâ.
Itâs not about caring. Itâs about protecting the investment from the cancel culture and social outcry.
Whatever the current Woke Agenda is will correlate directly to the Woke Corporate Meta.
Argument has been brought up every expansion since WotLK when armor stopped being skimpy and people act like this is some recent development. Itâs been a trend since 2008 or so. Leave your âwokeâ conspiracies at home.
So, you just want to complain for the sake of it and win yourself brownie points for agreeing with the parroted phrase âree objectification of women!!!â
I practice turning negatives into positives. If it makes me look good, I have no complaints. Otherwise, Iâd really be leaving nothing to the imagination, if I flat out refused to wear everything you mentioned because they were created for sinister purposes. The hell am I supposed to wear then?
âŚI think you are grossly misunderstanding my point and I donât know why.
Firstly, I wasnât complaining about anything. I was pointing out why the OPâs post about incubus versus Sylvanas belly was silly.
Secondly, I donât want brownie points. I already said I objectify women. And men. What good would be saying âIâm against objectificationâ after saying âI think all people are objects based solely on how useful you are to meâ.
Thirdly, I hope women continue wearing all the things I mentioned. Thats the extra use women have compared to men. I get to look at yall and derive a different sort of pleasure.
Lastly, wear whatever you want. Personal freedom (as long as you donât hurt anyone else) is very important.
if i was creator of something that had a sexy lead i would do the exact opposite and tell them to go shove it. then again iâm a very nasty person when someone crosses me.
