- This change aims to counteract "double dipping" of this talent
- The Tier 3 2-piece bonus increases the ticks' damage by 40%, applied multiplicatively
- Storm, Earth, and Fire increases the ticks' damage by 60%, applied multiplicatively
- These changes were intended to give Ele a stronger 2-piece than it has historically had access to
- The Tier 4 now has a second 4-piece bonus: Your Lava Burst deals increased damage equal to its critical strike chance.
- This is an exact copy of the 3-piece Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj set bonus and does not stack. The intention behind it is to allow Ele players to have other options for their Weapon, Cloak, and Ring slots while retaining desperately-needed scaling on their Lava Burst

- Items
- Blade of Inquisition's proc now grants 175 strength (was 250)
- Experiment-800M's explosions will no longer benefit from the player's damage buffs or debuffs on the target
- The damage from this effect made it far stronger than other options available
- This item's stats have also been manually adjusted in the sim. These changes are already in the sim but the tooltip will be out of date until they're available on Wowhead
There are also a number of itemization / stat changes coming that are not listed here that will help many classes further.
Someone leaked P8 changes & discords are all over it already SOD Team. Umm, care to respond if this is real? I think were all curious.
Thanks!

It’s live on the PTR so I’d say it’s not a joke.

I mean it is what it is, I’m just looking forward to the power creep with this next phase, just looking for confirmation more than anything.
You didn’t expect a tuning pass with how disparate the numbers were looking?
Paladins nerfed into the dirt with no compensation buffs and shaman getting more buffs and absolutely zero nerfs for any of their nonsense? Sounds like a normal SoD patch to me. I suggest Alliance players just quite en masse at this point.

I mean, considering a few classes (ret included) were doing at or over 16k in bis whereas the majority of the other classes were 10-12k dps…yeah they needed to do tuning lol

Pally were literally the only spec who’s bis in naxx doesn’t require the 6-pc borrowed power which means outside Naxx they were insanely juiced.
Nerf was needed. Using 4-pc t2 in t4 as bis was going to be stupid. Now granted it’s slightly rough to need to farm 4-pc t2.5 as pre-bis in one weeks time but it is what it is.

Please go to PvP and play against shamans for phases on end, you want to nerf something?
Nerf that piece of class into smithereens by addressing the tankyness, purge spam, decoy/grounding CDs, Flame Shock initial damage, Riptide, Shamanistic Rage.
They legit got everything whilst other melee get like 2-3 things at best whilst maintaining a healthy toolkit vs casters.

Priests also got nerfed into the dirt despite only doing 1 thing well, that being overhealing your party with VE.
Dude are you joking? Paladin sims were showing them doing 16,000 Dps. Compare that to rogues that we’re doing 10,000 dps.
Nerfed into the dirt? We need to shave off 60% of there damage just so they equal the rest of us

They need to revert the VE nerf for the Spriest self healing. Nerf the group healing if you must but why gimp shadow in PvP?
Warlock t3 4piece nerfed from one dot tick to 1/3 of a dot tick. Tier 2 is now probably equally if not stronger than t3. Great, love having my time wasted.
Like honestly, I might as well have skipped this entire phase and kept my t2 and 2.5.
Shamans comming to Say that shaman was not OP and this is a nerf not a buff in 3… 2… 1…

Retail players react the same way every time patch notes come out. The DK community especially and 9 times out of 10, once the players get their hands on the new gear and content, it’s not as bad as they think.
This happens when they look at the patch notes without sim data and multiple weeks of phase testing, out of context. I always recommend waiting until the phase comes out and we’ve had some time to play before sounding the alarms.

Well, if you hop on the PTR, the changes are in place. So…

Riptide
Now we know your trolling
Big paladin nerfs all but confirm horde paladin incoming… If there was a shattered throw rune it would confirm it.
shattering throw and mass dispel should also get rid of ice block too .
ill take the blade of inquisition nerf…my ret paladin was NEVER going to get it lol
I’m not sure what BiS list you are looking at but Ret 100% uses 6piece T3 in Naxx. There are some fights where you might want to swap out to 4-piece T2 and use a different shoulder rune, but that’s the exception not the rule.
It’s also the second time they have nerfed priest over the VE issue. But shadow definitely pumps.
I don’t care about sims when they are target nerfing tons of OLD set bonuses.
