So, this is classic

It’s about mental strength and patience to go through the many bullcrap that this game throw at your face.
“But it’s RPG” YEP! it is RPG and I’m a clown and every NPC treat me like an idiot. Even the mobs /spit at me. Everything in azeroth take advantage over me.
YOU KIDDING ME?! : kill a mob, drink/eat food to regain mana. repeat.
YOU KIDDING ME 2?! : kill a mob to collect his horn, loot, no horn, kill more 3, still no horn…
YOU KIDDING ME 3?! : a spider just dodged or parried my sword attack…
YOU KIDDING ME4?! : NPC: “hey fool, go across the continent and deliver this letter… 20s btw” …
YOU KIDDING ME5?! : five minute cd to sprint ? what my character is ? a 80yo grandma ? (nice role playing element btw)

Those activities described above is 50% of the content to lvl 60. 40% is about walking around to grab/complete quests. 10% is wasting yourtime killing others or being killed.

This is classic ?

If you want to look at it like that then I guess it is … but since your retail hunter hasn’t experienced it I’ve no idea where this rant came from.

You seem tense.

Have a snickers.

So, this is christmas. That popped into my head upon reading the title.

Has anyone begun decorating yet? I live in the mountains, so need to get cracking putting up the exterior lights before the snows come.

Different strokes for different folks. I’ve never found the game to be as tedious or painful as you’ve described here. If grinding mobs bothers you, mix it up by running dungeons, questing, exploring, and listening to some of the excellent music tracks in-game. If after all of this the game still isn’t fun for you, I’d either try a different class & different professions, or just back out and accept that Classic isn’t for everyone.

this has been my experience so far with this walking simulator

You posted about classic content on a lvl 74 character.

How does anyone know you actually gave classic a fair shake, and you’re not just a troll who’s upset retails population took a dive?

You’re only level 11 Pageoene, and a warrior no less. If low mobility really bothers you, the next 29 levels without your mount might not be worth the struggle. You may get more out of playing a shaman or druid instead.

Its an amazing game to play with people. You are just running round by yourself beating your head against the wall, because you are not playing properly.

I’m having a blast kicking butt with my friends. If you don’t like it go play something else.

yeah whatever mr lv 74 hunter

Sounds like you’ve been having fun then. Can’t see why anyone would level up a warrior to 36 if they weren’t having fun, after all. So long as you’ve been saving up gold wisely, that characters days of living the walking simulator life are nearly at an end. Hooray!

Indeed. Retail is that way ------>

a warrior must live by the promise of 2h and plate pvp with a pocket healer and an entire group supporting him

if you cant keep that dream…well shait mate

Its kinda funny that bear druids can’t parry, but a rabid squirrel can parry my 150 LB warhammer to the face, 4 times in a row.

i’ve been having fun until i reached 30 then its been being boring. I turned 36 like 3 days ago and havent logged in since and before that i was like level 35 for 6 days only logging in to play for like 20 or so minutes before i got bored especially with the way desolace and stranglethorn are designed

I find the world to be very ambient and relaxing, so the walking doesn’t bother me. That’s what Spotify is for.

What I dislike is the combat, which is abysmal. I’m (very slowly) leveling a warrior, and it’s one autoattack after another. For a game as immersive as Vanilla is in so many ways, the actual combat breaks immersion. I am a mere spectator while my character swings away, sometimes missing and sometimes hitting, and I occasionally assist by pressing a button.

You make you own fun. For example the last few days I got burned out on doing dungeons so I am going back around to lower level zones and mopping up quests I missed or starting them wholesale, offering help to people I run across, getting a bit of faction rep and gathering money.

Sure, I’m not making jack for XP, and my time could easily be “more efficiently” spent but personally, I’m having a blast plowing though Stonetalon and questing at my own speed, exploring and playing at my own speed.

To me is sound like you’re taking the tack you want the destination and not the journey. When I played over a decade ago I had that mindset too, and looked down on casual players but these days? Nah, I’m playing for enjoyment and I’ll do it my own way.

Well, you have a few options to shake things up. I’d seriously recommend that you stay out of the gray, flat waste that is Desolace if you want to avoid getting bored, and STV can get a bit repetitive between the trolls and the ganking Night Elf hunters shadowmelded along the roads. Try some of the less infamous zones, like Badlands, Swamp of Sorrows, etc! If that doesn’t pique your interest, spend some time just relaxing and leveling up your profession, taking a look at the talent tree upgrades & awesome new abilities you’ll get as you level up further. Find a good guild, make some friends! It is amazing how much more fun and engaging the game is when you’ve got a group of buddies to chat with and Dungeon/PvP with. And, although I normally advise people to avoid contracting Alt Fever, maybe experimenting with other classes is the best route for you. Maybe a hunter, priest or warlock would be a lot more fun for you than a warrior? You’ll never know if you don’t try.

TLDR: Just experiment with things you haven’t tried yet and find what is most fun for you. Socialize, make friends, and join a good guild!
