The new Venthyr ability is insanely broken. This ability adds 20k to your opener. With marked for Death talented, you’re going to get hit by 2 finishers within a global cd. This is more op then they were at the start of shadowlands… We’re back to seeing double rogue 2’s and triple rogue 3’s… And it gives them an insane haste buff so even assassination rogue is literally deleting people.
think about what rogues are doing now and just add another passive 17k on top of that and that’s what is happening on the ptr. This is getting released with no changes in sight. What is even this game anymore when stuff like this goes through testing and ruins the game?
Just watched a rogue open, eviscerate, marked for death, eviscerate with Flagellation up and did 50k pvp damage over the span of one global cooldown. literally could have added another eviscerate if the target wouldnt have died so fast…
Sigh you guys can be nerfed to the ground but I guarantee you will always be able to delete a Havoc DH… As long as you manage to re-stealth after getting detected by Spectral Sight, that is.
Pretty sure the fact that we have Gear + some classes have insane utility, it’s always been unbalanced.
I think the only time PvP came close to being true skill was when they tried to put everyone on a level playing ground where only skill would determine who was good.
People cried saying “Muh RPG progression” and “Muh ability to stomp noobs if I have gear”.
So basically they want PvP to be about skill and RPG progression where they can stomp anyone like how they cheese bosses with better gear.
Arena is usually balanced when you’re playing a meta comp, last couple xpacs have such crazy 1shot potential that balance is worse as ever. Its never been this crazy outside of vanilla shenanigans and end of bfa with 9000 borrowed power systems stacked.
Its better than early/mid bfa where nothing ever died, but worse than any other xpac pvp. Dmg only needs to be tuned down on the 1shot meme specs and we’ll be golden.
The fact is, if you have to play a meta comp to stand a chance, it’s not real PvP or real skill when you think about actual skill.
Being better or worse doesn’t make a difference because people will never let go of advantages like gear to get a real taste of skill. PvP will forever be stuck in this limbo.
That makes absolutely no sense. What determines “real skill” kek. Whats the difference between real and fake skill?
Skill matters, like knowing when and when not to pop defensives and trinket, when to burst and cc. When to peel or gtfo. Its the difference between being on the ground or continuing the fight.
The only REAL issue rn is the 1shots, you are delusional if you think its all just 100% gear. Yeah gear is an issue and it sucks to get it, but at higher level you are all geared the same so… how is that not balanced or do you think glads are sitting at 20+ ilvl difference?
They should leave PvP and PvP gearing as is for unrated. Separate rated from the RPG side and let players select any race/class combo they want. All avatars would be equally tuned, and you can customize talents/conduits/legendaries.
Ladder rewards would be cosmetic and you couldn’t gear up for the RPG part of the game.
Not sure what was up with that Monk because it doesn’t do the same damage on live as it did on the PTR. People were using it against me last night in battlegrounds and I was still able to fight like normal (minus gear discrepancies).
Yeah undergeared sucks I agree, skill doesn’t matter a lot at my ilvl on my DH either. Gearing should be faster or ilvl limited in BGs, but Blizz is listening to asmongold and gang begging to 1shot lowbies in bgs. It’ll probably be like this for at least this entire xpac.
I recommend suffering through it, maining ONE character and getting it geared. Thats what Im doing with my DH, even if havoc is trash. its not like I am enjoying the grind my argument was at geared high lvl pvp it is pretty balanced in arena outside of the 1shots, and this is historically accurate, ofc some seasons are crazier than others, but its had its balanced moments for sure.
