With all the Titan lore being dropped, one thing I noticed, or didn’t notice was the red star in the southwestern sky. All the skyboxes in Dragon Isle zones have heavy cloud formations to the southwest blocking the view of it.
There was a dev who had mentioned that if it ever went out we should be very worried. Given it’s the new zones, should we be worried?

We can’t see it, so for all we know everything is fine but the fact that Blizzard is intentionally hiding the red star… I feel that its a safe bet to feel wary at the very least.

That’s my thinking is that it’s deliberately being hidden. I took the time to go to every zone and anyplace with a clear vantage, and there’s clouds in the way, and it’s obviously meant to obscure that part of the sky.
And it’s the only reason I can think that Blizzard would do that.
I just checked other zones on the Beta. Just did a circuit of capitals on my mage. It is missing from Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isle though I don’t know if it was ever added there. It is also missing from all BfA zones in Kul Tiras and Zandalar, except Silithus.

Things can’t really be that bad that they would revisit Illidan so soon…

I don’t know, but if someone wants to double check, I’m just reporting what I’m not seeing. And let’s face it given Illidan’s nature do you think he’d fare well with a pantheon of basically the personifications of order?

I can double check when I get home. My character is resting in ogrimaar at the moment

I’ve noticed that some skyboxes don’t have it at all. I think the BFA ones (that being Kul Tiras, Zandalar & Nazjatar) didn’t have it even during BFA. My guess it is just Blizzard being lazy.

I remember seeing it clearly in Stormsong Valley and Vol’dun. That’s why when I didn’t see it in Tirisgarde Sound I checked the other zones.
after dragon island I think the next expansion will be sailing the ocean or something

Or maybe the backside of Azeroth. The place that the ships, that try to sail east of the Eastern Kingdoms or west of Kalimdor, dissapear.

That’s very possible, especially since the new books in the Uldaman dungeon mentions a new place called Avaloren.
The exact contents of the mention:
Prime Designate,
I am writing to confirm that the wreckage discovered on our shores was indeed the remains of our most recent expedition to Avaloren. There were no survivors.
This marks the third failed attempt to reach that accursed place in the time since I assumed my post.
While I would not presume to question either your authority or your determination, I pray to the titans that the rumors I hear of a fourth expedition are merely speculation rather than fact.
Surely you can see that further pursuit of the heretics is folly. Yes, they must be made to answer for their crimes against Innaria and the other keepers, but their defenses are not to be underestimated.
The resources required to breach their lines are simply beyond our current capabilities. At least, not without jeopardizing containment of the prisoners in our charge.
Though I agree there is a risk in allowing their strength to grow, evidence suggests that the aggressive nature of the heretics will cause them to turn on one another and weaken their resolve. If we can be patient, an opportunity for retribution will present itself.
I beseech you, Prime Designate, let the fire of your wrath cool, at least for now. Its embers will be rekindled in due time.
If not, I fear that I will soon be authoring yet another report of a lost expedition, its final remnants dashed upon rock and wave.
With all respect,
Watcher Perethales

If anyone is curious, the Kalimdor skybox still has the red star in the sky. So they didn’t forget about it. Just seems blizz wanted the Dragon Isles to be a super beautiful place for us to visit and it was a oversight.

I checked Kalmidor and EK as well I just found it telling that the cloud formations just happen to be in that direction. Especially given the heavy amount of Titan lore that’s been dropping. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist, but kind of wanting to look up and make sure it’s still there in the new zones lol.
If they were planning something, reverting the skyboxes in existing zones, could be easily done in a small patch.
