They’re a mid-ranged caster. Like Evoker.

They’ll still use melee weapons.

Basically like Evokers. And they’ll probably use polearms and staves. 'Cause one of their abilities talks about scythe strike.

So like Allari the Souleater in Aszuna.

I don’t know about you, but my DH can throw his warglaive pretty far.

My butt ain’t leavin’ melee for that, though. Not unless I absolutely have to.

This is more akin to Evoker than it is to “I got lucky and have something I can toss at range if I need to run out.”

Ahh I’ve had moments where something appears in melee, I can pop Eagle and continue to DPS as if I’m still there in close range.

It’s likely way more useful in PvP.

I can snare/slow folks and hit them without being hit myself.

They have a move that you charge in…then disengage back. Likely will be two one handers still. Then they conjure a void scythe thing like frost DKs do with ice.

TBH it sounded more like Red Mage from FFXIV. Which is theoretically a ranged spec that charges in to deliver its big finisher, then jumps back to range to cast spells. I guess we’ll see if Blizz enforces this by putting ranged specific boss mechanics onto them, because the long and the short is that the proliferation of boss arenas with death borders and drops in both games means the disengage isn’t really used, so Red Mage is effectively a melee Job.

Man that’s gonna suck to fight in PvP.

Gonna use 2h weapons like scythes/polearms with agility on them
