Divine Toll : Instantly cast Holy Shock, Avenger’s Shield or Judgment on all valid targets within 30 yds (based on your current specialization)

Sounds boring and lack imagination. I kinda hoped for something like, I dunno, being that they are soul carriers summon divine soldiers or something about summoning spirits of light to aid you?
I don’t like these long cooldown abilities. I always hate to use it because I feel like I’m wasting it. And when I use it on the current fight, the next fight feels worse, because it’s on cooldown.
I guess it’s great in raid environment though, but still a lot of time is played alone.
Wonder if that would also interrupt/silence every target with avenger’s shield. Same thing if judgement still has a debuff come shadowlands, would be cool for a huge divine storm on a group.
Omg, i was just thinking an individual avenger’s shield, but that would be amazing if it was the actual cast, as in the one that bounces. And if prot still has the pvp talent that aoe silences people on avenger’s shield…
are you joking this is awesome. from a ret standpoint, people have been asking for judgment to apply a buff to the paladin instead of a debuff. this isnt a perfect solution but it does give us what we want. if the avengers shield silences every mob hit theres no reason why it wouldnt also apply the judgment debuff to all of them as well

Well, it won’t be that OP if glimmer keeps the target cap that’s supposed to be implemented. It would be ridiculous to glimmer everyone with a single shock once a min. Especially with glimmer lasting 30 secs.
Wait, you think that sounds boring? Are you joking? Holy shock is our strongest ability (not counting glimmer since that’s a trait and also needs holy shock to work), being able to hit literally everything in range of you with 1 holy shock is absolutely insane. Even without glimmer this is pretty massive.
I want you to imagine having wings up, the entire raid is getting blasted and is hovering around 30-40%, you pop this and hit every person in the raid with your strongest single target heal. It’s like a 1 minute revival. I also imagine it’ll damage enemies too which would make our aoe dps absolutely bonkers.
This is probably going to be the most fun ability to press and it’s going to be pretty nutty too. I have no idea if it’ll be fun for ret Paladin but I assume applying the judgement debuff to every enemy is going to make aoe very good. I know it’ll be fun for prot Paladin and holy Paladin for sure.
So you guys know that some of our iconic spells (seals, auras, and possible judgement seal effects) is returning and those 3 spells are gonna get nerfed to compensate for that. But if you want an added effect added to the AoE then how bout this;
Divine toll: summon the lost spirits of holy soldiers to each enemy within 30 yards to strike at your opponents for x amount of damage and applying the following effects depending on your active seal;
Seal of rightoues fury: increases the damage of the spirits strike by x amount.
Seal of truth: apply full 10 stack of seal of truth on all enimies stroked.
Seal of light: Enimies that is striked radiates holy energy, healing any party members in x yards radius x amount (over time?)
Seal of justice: applies a movement speed reduction cap + snare.
I personally would like the skill to reflect what the lore is said about the bastion to reflected on the spell and would hate it if end up with a silly graphic spell again…
It sounds incredibly broken for hpal, they will surely add a close to allies only eventually. But, for ret it sounds ok. In single target it will have a minimum impact on gameplay. In mythic + it will be really good though.
Who even cares what it does damage wise lol. All them hammers and shields and shocks going all over the place is gonna loooook amaaaaazzzzingggg. Ret is by far the most beautifully done class in the game. Just so visual. Well done blizz.

What you said makes no sense. You have no clue what they’re going to nerf. You don’t know if they’re even going to nerf anything to compensate for this. You can’t just state “because of X they’re going to nerf Y”, that’s not how it works. Saying the current Divine Toll is bad because you’re assuming things will get nerfed especially this early on is a bit ridiculous.
And the ideas youre recommending are not better imo. Having holy shock hit everyone within range of you is absolutely bonkers. It’ll be a button that feels extremely good to press for all 3 specs which is something every class needs pretty badly right now. I don’t think you fully understand how ridiculous Divine Toll could end up being for prot and holy. It seems good for ret but I’m not sure as I don’t really play it. Regardless though, it’s definitely a very cool ability.
Been playing on and off since vanilla. They will nerf these 3 abilities to compensate the added utility/ damage/ healing. And this isn’t the first time they did numbet nerfs espaically to ret. Also sure they will be flying everywhere, but most likely our toons will twirl (call back to when we twirl with divine storm/templers verdict) to make it look right.
