So the centaurs are literally just the Dothraki, right?

Am i the only one seeing the resemblance?

Imagine thinking GRRM came up with the concept of nomadic horse archers, lol.

Yes, i know who the Mongols were. And yes i know the Dotrhaki were inspired by them, just like all fantasy races are inspired by something from real life.

Your attempt at being a smartass fails miserably.

No they’re discount Tauren race but they didn’t want to get us another Tauren race this expansion so they retcon centaurs.

Did you though?

I mean, sure… if we want to discount anything written before 1995.

I just figured they were just illegitimate spawns of Sagittarius with Armenian accents.

Nah. The whole thing references cultures even older. Anyone who has read the Jean M. Auel Clan of the Cave bear books, esp the later ones that talk of the clans and summer meetings, would find the whole thing similar. Right down to the mammoth hunting.

Is there some nomadic archer stuff too. Of course. They drew inspiration from a lot of cultures, histories, and stories.

Nah, they’re Mongolian themed like the other Centaur, they just aren’t ugly inbred looking centaur with literal clouds of flies around them like the Kalimidor ones.

I can see some resemblance. The centaur seem less brutal though.

I’ve always felt like there’s a parallel between the draeni/broken and tauren/centaur that doesn’t get developed in this game.

The Dothraki made absolutely no sense from any sort of logic standpoint; it’s like GRRM read about the mongols and/or Cossacks and thought he could make them more badass by having them ride around without armor which just… Ghenghis may not have had the finest armorsmiths in his host but they didn’t ride into battle shirtless, hoping that their manly nipples would deflect the errant arrows and spears of their enemies.

Better than the on the nose political commentary of the Wrathion trash.

Name a single movie, story based game, or TV show that DOESNT have political commentary.

What you really mean to say is “How DARE they have political commentary I DONT LIKE, cause im a fragile snowflake whos terrified of being exposed to different views!”

We need better education than tv shows

Oh, so they’re Scythians.

The mongols/steppe nomads were all on horseback with bows. So it makes sense for the centaurs to be like that.

Huns - Wikipedia

The Huns predated the Mongols by quite a few centuries, bro.

Most media I enjoy manages to not bring in U.S. politics. It’s not terribly hard to do so. Just finished up Witcher 3 and pretty sure he never had to quarrel with the left or right decision. Is it so hard for you to believe that most people don’t want to engage with certain topics when trying to enjoy a hobby?

Current events, pop culture, and politics/issues/etc. being brought into media, games for example, is just lazy writing. “What? I have to think up an enthralling story? Naaaaah I’ll just make this dragon a leftist and this one a rightist. Money pleaaaaaaaaaaase”

They’re not nearly as brutal or violent as the Dothraki
