They’ve fixed it for future caches. The ones already received and opened are so far not likely to be changed unfortunately.
The community thanks you for being the day 1 beta tester. In the future, I advise you to not race to world first completing new expansion/patch/season stuff that has weekly lockouts, currencies, etc.
This isn’t the first time this kind of thing has happened and every instance I can think of, those “lucky” early doers got the honor of being the guinea pig for the rest of the community.

They need to do something, like the amount of people that got jipped over this is astronomical, theres no way that they can jsut ignore us all and go “well tough luck, try again when it comes around in 4 weeks” meanwhile the other half of the community can enjoy there 493+ lewt at OUR expense

This has happened before and those of us affected thought and said the same thing and nothing happened. The bug shouldn’t have happened, but it did and you’re just deluding yourselves if you think you’re getting compensated.
And if by some miracle you did, it’ll just open the floodgates to all the people previously wrong by similar and equally as “damaging” bugs (respective to the time) and DIDN’T get made whole. Welcome to the club of unwilling guinea pigs.
I wouldn’t hold your breath hoping they make things right for players who already looted their chests. They fixed the problem for future rewards, and over the remainder of S4 this will benefit more players than the ones who unfortunately got bugged items today.
Someone has to get rekt by this for blizzard to notice that its bugged. So dont be a turd towards OP
You can interpret it like that, but I’ve been there too. More than once even.
People who read my words would be wise to take them as words of divine wisdom from one of the most ancient and wizened of WoW elders. Or don’t. I’ll get as much sleep either way.
Similar logic to how one survives a bear chasing you down…you don’t gotta outrun the bear…just the person next to you (or trip them cause survival of the fittest which is always been more like survival of the most selfish/devious).
Also similar logic to how one avoids being a victim to otherwise “random” criminal acts…you don’t be the most obvious/easy/lucrative mark. For WoW, this means, as I said, don’t bum rush new expansion/patch/season content like it is a world first race. Let some other eager beaver go first.

Yeah I need it to be fixed to. I received a 389 cloak from the cache.
It can go either way.
First day of Fated SL they didn’t scale the bosses, but gave fated drops. That was fixed in 4.5 hours but my goodness fastest full LFR clear ever.
