Looks exactly the same. Kill the same world boss for a mount. Kill the other same bosses for transmogs. Get a pet in your mailbox.

It is the 19th anniversary. I’m sure the 20th would be grander, it is two decades after all.
I am hoping it drops that mount transmogrifiermorpher (grants one mount you haven’t learned from a raid)

It’s an anniversary, not a holiday per se.
The revamp I assume went towards the monthly holidays.
Even though the revamps were kind of underwhelming lol
Updating the rewards is enough for me. A new mount, new pet, and catch-up gear that I probably won’t get lol

Underwhelming is an understatement. Aside from the mount and pet freebies, the event itself is a joke. This should have been fixed back on the tenth or fifteenth anniversary. Wife and I have played since the beginning and it’s been a love/hate relationship over the years. All this globe trotting around to kill bosses in ‘The Originals’ is ridiculous. Either utilize portals or set up a raid with the bosses in one room to help LFG, ala Headless Horseman. Waiting for people to show up can be interminably boring. And most of the time, just some pittance of gold. We should get a higher than usual drop-rate for a piece of gear for our troubles, my god! The event is boring and no F-U-N, fun. It’s more like a job! And why Caverns of Time?! Huge inconvenience. Blizzard should have fun with this event to thank all of us hardcore subscribers shelling out hard-earned money every month. Hello!? Hello!? Blizzard!? Anyone home!? Oh, they must be too busy working on the next stupid cash grab expansion…

for the 15th anniversary they did a special video commemorating it, 25 years of warcraft and 15 years of wow and along with it the LFR queue that gave deathwing mount
… the entire point is nostalgia. Not to be a lobby game for you to be lazy.
It’s an MMORPG. Go out into the world. Traverse old world to reminisce over old world.

LoL Yes, it is my opinion. And nobody is making me do it. And back in the old days of 12MM subs, Blizzard would come up with some cool spontaneous level fun. Not so much anymore. Where do subs hover now? Hmm…?

Back then they had things in the open world as well. This event is a nostalgia trip of those fights.

i just think they need to put more effort in these events lol same 20 yr old events really need to modernized some of these and stop being lazy.
It’s pretty underwhelming, but it doesn’t need to be some huge thing every year. If they don’t go overboard for the big milestone next year I’ll be kinda disappointed, but for 19? Whatever.
Sometimes 19 is a big deal. 19 is legal drinking age here. It’s when my friends and I celebrated using our real ID to get into clubs we were regulars at.
