So the Alliance Treadblade

I remember back when they had that Chopper competition back a while where they made WoW-themed motorcycles.

Thing is though, I don’t think you can get the Horde one anymore unless you logged in during that time, but I believe you can still by the Alliance one.

I guess the Alliance motorcycle won after all!

Yea

This one’s a pretty clear win for the Alliance. Doesn’t effect me, but my brother was too cheap to sign up for a month and now he doesn’t have it.

There was some sort of contract weasel speak that basically meant that the faction that won actually got screwed whereas the one that lost can still buy it. Moral of the story, being a loser is being a winner.

I believe it had something to do with contracts. That the horde version was a prize, so it was limited. The alliance version wasn’t, so they could do whatever they wanted with it.

Basically this. Contracts between Blizz and those who built the choppers prevented the winner from being distributed as anything but a limited time prize.

That is pretty F’d up, since Blizz sponsored and probably paid for the whole thing. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, the reason for this is because of the rules in place determining prize awarding and legality. Because it was a prize, Blizzard cannot offer it up for a form of currency, as that’d be violating California state law. But because the Alliance bike didn’t win, it can be sold at any point and any time, as it wasn’t a prize.

Still chalk it up as a win from the Alliance!

Check mate, Horde!

What’s stopping them from making a Treadblade with a horde shield on it?

edit: repainted too.

Hence “Against Overwhelming Odds”.

Depends on how you look at it. On one hand, yeah you guys can buy your bike. On the other, the Horde has a rare and exclusive mount :woman_shrugging:

I don’t know which is better.

Depends if you have the horde one or not I guess.

My deathwheel didn’t cost 100k gold.

This right here. If you weren’t around for the Horde one, then you are down 1 mount. Alliance can always buy theirs.

You won’t hardly see anyone use theirs once they can fly, so they are mainly just collectors items. I haven’t seen hardly anyone ride either faction’s bike. (Subjective, I know. My experience.)

When you win, you lose
And when you lose you won in the long run
