Wasn’t the whole point of the authenticator thing so ads wouldn’t be in the LFG tab anymore?
Just opened the tab and found 11 ads.
So what’s your next step to get rid of them?

It’s not a problem they can solve unless they put more money into CS, instead of outsourcing it to the laziest people possible.
Odds are they are hacked accounts.
Would be nice to have account-wide silences, im not sure if that’s a thing.
There are some unsavory types who exploit the system to harass others. Maybe these bots use the same tricks.
Idk but getting tired of the pvp boosting spam invites on calendar
Those people are doing work above and beyond what they’re getting paid for.
Not recently, they aren’t.
They are. You pay $20 work in Irvine, you get $20 work in Irvine.
Throw away phones (those with limited timed plans) and virtual phones with spoofed numbers are easy to get, put an authenticator on them and run your ads until you get banned. Get another throw away phone or virtual phone replaced, pay for a boost and they’re back at it.
Pay a single neckbeard to sit there and nuke adverts all day.
That’s all it’d take.
Hell, you could probably find some people that’d take compensate in game-time/bnet balance.
Or even free.
mine? i use Premades Group Finder addon and have it only show me groups with 2+ members.
Wanting to not have to use an addon to see ads in a game you pay for is completely reasonable. Requesting that they ban people advertising outside of trade is reasonable. These things should be in trade an nowhere else. Or since Blizzard clearly supports it, in its own dedicated channel.
The addons are great and I’ve had them longer than most people knew they existed. But I shouldn’t have had to download an add-on to not be spammed in such a high-profile game. This addon has millions of downloads. Sure, it may only take a few minutes to download wowup and install an add-on, but millions of people times a few minutes per person equals a heck ton of minutes.
so… this is where we are. we can download it or not download it.
let the players drive the solution if that’s the best we have. we should take pride in knowing that we, the players helped fix the experience for others.
We can also be ashamed in knowing that we, the players ruined the experience for others in the first place.
Trade only, nowhere else, or a permaban after the second warning. This is the way it should be.
I absolutely agree with you.
but until blizzard does something more about it, using the addon is the best solution available to us.
You do realize that Mike Ybarra, WoW co-head sells boosts for gold in game right? Did you really think the point was to stop ads? ![]()
one person can’t cover all channels.
what could cover all channels is intelligent filtering. if a player can do it with an addon, why can’t blizz so it baseline?
Read my post just above yours then Google it.
I’m uninterested in jumping on the oh noes mike ybarra melodramatic overreaction train
Then why are you even posting on this subject?
