Took maybe 15 minutes off the 3 hour tour. Do they serve a purpose other than allowing people to say there are skips?

You can skip the Halls of Origination and Mogu’shan Vaults scenarios by talking to Magni and Ra-den when you get the quests. Still have to do the Blackwing Descent one though.

Wait, it took you three hours on an alt? It didn’t take me three hours on my main, without the skips and actually having to read the quest text to know what the hell I was supposed to do.

415 shadow priest. Yes it can be done faster on toons that don’t have to wait for someone to help on the major assault end bosses.

Unlike the established procedure of the option to skip being listed with the option to take the quest, you have to take the quest and then talk to them again and they offer the skip there.
better than no skips at all! i did that thing on 15 toons so it saved me quite a bit of total time. although i didn’t notice there were skips until my 5th time through.
but i agree, pretty minor skippage. the alt shortcuts are nowhere near as generous this expansion as previous.
no its only for horde actually. alliance dont get a skip option since magni is your best buddy.
Yeah to those that say 2-3 hours is unrealistic length of time, did it on this toon at around idk 405-410 ilvl as shadow. wow took me a bit of time…

I’ve done the cloak quest on 11 alts. The only parts you have to finish are two invasions in the vale and uldum, and the scenario in blackwing descent. The rest is skippable and you can get the cloak in half the time it takes to get it the first time around. (give or take a few mins depending how efficient you are at all the running back n forth and how long it takes you to finish the invasions.)
To fully finish the quest line, you then finish the quest version of the minor vision and do the scenario where the heart room is invaded to unlock the horrific visions.
A tip to finish the invasions sooner. Killing a regular mob or clicking on objects mostly gives you 1% of the bar. Opening chests gives around 3%. Killing rares were around 9% if I remember right. In the vale, taking the buff that lets you turn into xuen lets you solo pretty much any rare you come across in the zone easily, and if you come across any shrines while it is on CD, it will cut the time down by 5 min for each one you click. That will help finish the invasions quicker.

Group play for them is much faster than solo play… unless you start out with DK or DH then solo is faster. Also having better gear when you start the quest makes them much faster and easier so alts that are still gearing up or fresh 120’s will take longer for sure. No worries OP
Took me almost 4.5 hours. 
Alt I didn’t time. Maybe 2. Mage with ports helped. The travel time sucks.
Yeah I was on a 400 arcane mage.
The parts you don’t skip give you vessels and the cloak so it would be bad to skip them lol.
It took me about an hour and thirty minutes to complete the intro on my alts (using the skips).
