Its been sitting there since at least Wrath, maybe longer and cannot be entered by normal means. Its just odd to have a part of Azeroth we can’t get into, and I wonder now and then if it will ever be used for anything.
No, we’re probably never going back to that part of the world. I’m sure there’s nothing in the northern part of Eastern Kingdoms that would be interesting ever again.
my suspicion is that the answer is probably ‘no.’ if they do decide to use it, they’ll probably expand it a bit since there’re very few assets i think you could cobble onto that land which would look cohesive, and the nearby zones haven’t been lore-relevant since, like, shadowlands prepatch? it might see a revamp in midnight if they redo the entire lordaeronian subcontinent tho.
That zone is Quel’Thalas and it’s been sitting there since beta well over 20 years ago. You can fly there on your own right now if you go around the long way (without entering Ghostlands). And it’s been confirmed to be a part of the next expansion already, so yes, I think they’ll use it (a very heavily modified, expanded version of it).
