So thankful for scaling /sarcasm

Except there is no issue. You got a fair fight and Blizzard should be applauded for allowing that to happen. That you think being a higher level should make lower level a free kill is out of date. You want to gank and are now stopped. Sorry, but you are going to have to get your targetting lowbie jollies else where.

The issue with this statement is that it was technically not a fair fight. A fair fight would mean that there were no levels or gear factoring into him losing. That isn’t the case. In fact, I’d put odds heavily on the 70s in this case. They’d have to be braindead to lose this fight.

Its also misleading to say that this is what Blizzard wants, because this situation is a rarity. Normal level 70s are going to get wrecked by OP because they aren’t geared like the 70s in the video.

Not to say I dont enjoy slaying people way higher level than me though :stuck_out_tongue:

Well its not like that matters. Its not endgame. You arent getting rating or anything. Benefiting from Legion endgame equipment vs us not being in the last tier yet…

Oh, I didn’t know you shouldn’t expect to be as powerful as me, someone who got their gear in a few weeks, versus someone who has to wait 2 years for the final tier to come out in order to participate in PVP.

Most people who PVP don’t care about rating outside of linking it to noobs after duels.

I pvp for fun, and boy is it fun seeing people cry as they lose to someone 10 levels below them.

It was 2v1, so you are right about it not being fair. He was also double teamed hard and they set up their positioning ahead of time (meaning they were most likely using voice) and got off their big casts. If they had green leveling gear I bet that outcome would have been the same (just had taken a few more hits).

Sometimes all it matters is who got the first shot off first…

That’s actually really dumb.

Agreed. I neglected to think of the 70s as twinks. I just saw two level 70s punishing the 108 which seems dumb to me. But, as evidenced by this thread, clearly I don’t know much about PvP!

I think you mean “weak”.

If only you could have seen them in school.

But I cede the point. Happy PvPing. Perhaps that scaling problem will be smoothed out soon.

Not just players, mobs too.

If you get killed by a level 70 at 108 you should probably go to the doctor and ask for a head CT, because something is wrong.

with warmode i don’t see a reason why there should be any scaling in world pvp. there’s a already a lot of things wrong with world pvp (faction imbalance) and this is another wrong that shouldn’t even exist.

thats not true at all. thats not how scaling works. and also why 120s run lower ilvl in arena.

This also happened during MoP when they introduced those OP blue items, which allowed an incredible amount of power gain for level 80 characters. This was back when hit/vers still existed, so it was possible to chug a +hit pot and melt higher level players with ease.

Also, that’s pretty rad to see lower levels doing the ganking for once. Payback for higher levels camping their questing zones. I hope Blizzard leaves it in.

Yes we’ve all had our laughs the Warrior with Mythic ToV set and 1800 grand marshal weapons is too inept to fight off lowbies in Aszuna. Let me bold a statement for you so you are able to formulate an opinion.

Should characters within a 40 level gap have the same powerlevel?

Whelp getting used to other games pvp like destiny. The gear in WoW in not an indicator of skill, just perserverance on content.

No. They should be able to function in the same general proximity though. You weren’t even trying to kill them; you sat in root till it broke, didn’t charge, didn’t use cds till dead, didn’t fear, and he blew everything on you.

Nobody should be a free kill for anyone else in any arena that the game allows them to be put against each other. If your actual question is “should lowbies be literally at the whim of higher level characters” the answer is no, they shouldn’t. They aren’t anywhere near on equal footing, they just aren’t the punching bags they used to be.

WPvP isnt fair, but that doesn’t mean it has to be a complete crapshoot where lowbies might as well not exist vs. high level characters.

That’s ok, I’ve never had a twink either, but I do know they go to great lengths to get the best gear for their level. I’ve just never realized just how much. If I saw a much lower level character in my leveling zone, I wouldn’t think “oh a level 70, they must be a twink and I’m about to be Pwn’d!” But now I might haha.

Here’s a thought: Not everyone who has Warmode on actually wants to pvp… I can hear it now, “If you don’t want to fight back or try to save yourself, you shouldn’t be flagged”. There might be any number of reasons he just stood there, doesn’t really matter. Point is, he does not have to engage each and every encounter if he does not wish to. I’m sure that that statement drives some of you Wpvp’ers nuts, but it is what it is. This thread is not about if he should have fought back or not anyway, but why scaling is so out of whack between different level brackets.

I don’t gank and I don’t like getting ganked, but the concept that a toon 30 levels lower in gear over 50 ilvls lower can beat a toon that vastly outlevels them is totally asinine.

When a 108 toon in Legion gear fights some level 70 in heirlooms the 108 should win, period, end of story.
