So thankful for scaling /sarcasm

I have never been able to understand this part, but I suspect that I am just looking at it in the wrong light.

The purpose of PvP is to avoid fair fights, to seek out the most unfair fights possible in which the opposing party cannot possibly fight back. Is that right? Am I seeing that correctly?

So when one happens upon a fair fight wherein the opponent is just as capable as you then something has gone terribly wrong. Because the whole reason you engaged with this opponent was because they presumably had no chance to offer any resistance.

PvP is all about finding safe fights where you are in no danger of losing or even receiving a challenge. That is the goal, yes?

I could be wrong about all that, but its such a mixed bag of rhetoric.

I hear some business about nobility right beside “where’s all the alliance at”. I hear shouts about class balance right beside ganking debates. Here we have the OP who is so focused on the effects of scaling they may not have realized the import of this statement even as they were making it.

I think there is a lot of double-think about PvP. Some people want it to be an endeavor of worth wherein one can find some value in the game or themselves through exposure to adversity and overcoming it.

But then, in practice, it becomes nothing more than a cowardly exercise in lowbie rolling and outright indignation when an even conflict is somehow placed in their path.

And the poison in PvP is when someone, who imagines it is one thing, realizes it is entirely the other, and that’s the last you see of them. The reprehensible quality of it certainly leaves more than a few to just stick to the theme park rides.

But not to fear, OP.

Without a doubt this was just a one-off, a chance happenstance of statistics conspiring to cancel the power of cowardice like a broken clock being right twice a day. You will be back to kicking over lowbies in no time, handing out regret like valentine goodies and passing on those sterling values that so define PvP.

Just keep leveling and the true meaning of PvP will be in your hands once more.

I’m not even sure what you’re trying to get at with this post, but its super interesting, and I can feel the emotion you put into it. It doesn’t seem very relevant, but it is interesting for sure.

As I’ve said on a many previous times I was in Aszuna looking for lowbies gank, and feel free to mock all you’d like but this is purely for information as I have already claimed. If you spent as much time reading my initial post instead of writing up yours you’d understand the situation at hand.

There is no circumstance in which someone more than 20 levels lower than you, should be able to four shot you.

If the scaling bracket was closer within a 10 level difference, that would be different, yo ucould argue expansion brackets. But the edge should still be on the higher level player.

No circumstance period should allow someone 38 levels lower than you to four shot you. That’s almost literally 1/3rd of the entire level pool in difference. That’s such a huge, massive difference, it should be close to the grand canyon levels in a power gap.

This is like a level 20 character taking out a level 60 character in four hits.

Bloody freaking mad world that anyone thinks this is okay.

Ooo, good to know. Hard to believe that all that stuff adds up. Forgot about the blacksmithing stones.

Level 20s used to hit your level 60 ankles in Goldshire and you’d stand there and laugh. I guess they are the ones laughing now.

So…a fair fight? GASP!

It is rather eye opening. I had no idea this kind of imbalance was going on.

If you continued reading beyond your short scope, you’d see many others including myself have found it actually more viable to be at a lower level in open world pvp in this scenario but of course thank you for posting friend.

You are 100% correct. I take that into RL as well, so I only challenge the week, very young, very old, and infirm. Look I don’t care if you are 93 years old and just had both your hips replaced. I will see you in the octagon!

Ignore the disingenuous trolls. replying to them is only going to feed them.

Again you fail to dispute because you only manage to attempt to attack my character but the fact is, I was not looking for a fight and this is easily gathered the fact I was in Aszuna and there was level 70s there. Also I hear the continued feedback, of why I didn’t attempt to fight back and that was to give you all this video.

No I read several of your posts after the OP where you complain about doing the same relative damage to them as they did to you. AKA a fair fight.

Those level 70s put more time and effort into gearing than OP did leveling, and more effort into the fight the OP recorded, and yet he expects to win. Welcome to Welfarecraft.

Yes you were not looking for a fair fight, but that was what you got. I have a hard time feeling as if this is actually a problem.

If you both cannot see the issue with level 70s or any level being able to take higher levels due to the effects of scaling then my words would be lost on you talking to you further.

For real though, we see the issue (or at least I do), but its an incredibly small one effecting a very small amount of the population of WoW. It’s not worth your time or effort caring about, and thats going to be Blizzard’s stance on it as well if I know them well enough.

I don’t see how you can say we, I know you are aware and I know you understand the problem but Hamstar is just intentionally short sighted in this scenario. Also in retrospect it is a small issue a very small one, and I wouldn’t even care if they never fixed it but I think people should know and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

No one twinks with greens. The whole reason to be a twink is to be overpowered to be able to 2-3 shot someone. So yes, my assumption is entirely based on them being gemmed and enchanted to the teeth. If you know of some data of level 70 green armored characters 2 shot-ting a 108, I would love to hear it. Not sure why you need to keep pointing out what is obvious about my posts, I am clearly assuming they are gemmed out in best in slot gear for twinks. I neither know nor care what the actual gear is, other than they are ‘most likely’ wearing a lot of it. I do not believe that a level 70 in say, heirloom gear with no enchants, or normal leveling gear with again, no enchants/gems would be 2 shot-ting a 108 in same type of gear. If you know of such an instance, I am all ears.

Edit: I’m glad Demonsocks could explain it a bit better for you. To actually know the twinks in question is awesome.

When you play on the Classic Server come this Summer, remember the feeling of this situation and let it empower you when you’re facing the gank squads of Hillsbrad Foothills. Its nice for once in a while to destroy the losers who gank noobs.
