Honestly I feel like the devs don’t even pay attention to the community a lot of people were asking for the new spec to be a tank spec and not just those who play evokers but honestly probably a good bit of tanks as well looking for something new to play with since anyone who tanks has been limited to the same tank specs for years now that I’m sure most have found boring or stale by now.

Augmentation is not a “support” specialization, it is a damage dealer specialization with an emphasis on support and utility as opposed to raw damage.

Not everything needs to be given. It was said off rip that Evokers would never get a tank spec. They would remain a caster, even if they got a third spec. You should start paying attention to the devs instead of saying things like this:
What the community wanted (not even the whole community mind you) in this situation was dumb. A tank has been added every single time a new class was brought in. It’s okay that a tank wasn’t added for once.

I mean to be entirely fair, every single class added to the game has been able to tank up until the evoker. I’m not saying new tank options would be bad, but from a ranged dps point of view, we are finally getting some love.
Until evoker was added, we had gained zero ranged options, even losing one in survival.

I main evoker, the devs wanna use lore as an excuse to not let them be tanks, but they already tossed lore out the window.

Honestly though my main concern based on what little preview they gave us, it’s gonna be hard for them to balance this new spec.

I mean it’s basically gonna be evoker version of Priest just on crack with more damage and buffs
Tank was never going to happen Blizzard said so themselves if you’re disappointed or upset thats your own fault.
Also it’s a damage spec not support like it SHOULD of been a support similar to discipline priest with a high skill ceiling focusing on buffing and shielding allies to kill enemies quickly and negate damage with fewer big heals which would also work as a trade off price to help balance it.
But of course that would actually require basic knowledge about game balance something Blizzard doesn’t have.
I mean it’s gonna break meta cause basically being a augmentator or whatever they named it and have two hard hitting dps on the S or A tier quality and dungeons become easy mode not to mention can you imagine how it will effect pvp
… That’s literally just the role it fills in LFD.
You have to select a role. They are not adding a 4th role selection for Support just for the 1 Dracthyr Spec.
That doesn’t mean it’s not a support spec.
Bards in FFXIV are DPS too. Still support. Less so these days, but still.

This spec was in development a lot longer than people were howling for a tank.

Those poor tanks who have gotten 3 new tank classes since vanilla. How will they ever deal with this disappointment?
Signed, Every ranged DPS ever, who now have EXACTLY as many specs to choose from as in vanilla. Soon a single option more than we had in vanilla.

Melee already has issues with Mythic raiding. Looking forward to this taking away more melee spots.
