So since worgen can't breed they'll die out in timeskip

Hasn’t that curse existed for like 700 years already

Personally I see the curse always being passed down, whether from people who have formed packs as rituals or something or just by crazies

Gilneans love being stuck in their old ways.

If it becomes a central part of their cultural identity then I could see it becoming some kind of “coming of age” like ritual where the children are turned.

Might be a good way to give the Alliance some of those famous “morally grey” traits that I’ve heard so much about.

It would give the alliance a cool human warrior tribe token.

Kultirans are obsessed with the ocean and stormwind humans are overly devout to the light

He was always grey, his model was just updated to reflect his canon appearance.

Instead of using a basic classic wow human model in noble clothes.

The curse of Worgen makes it harder to be brought back from the dead which is why some citizens in Gilneas willingly chose to become Worgen when the Forsaken attacked Gilneas but they can be raised if you are a powerful enough Necromancer. At least that was the lore last time I checked. Someone may have to correct me.

At the age of 16 the child can choose to consume worgen blood to accept the curse.

My headcanon anyway.

Let’s be real here.

For being called a curse, being a Worgen is pretty sweet.

Source?

Do we have a source for that?

Not all of us consider it a curse. After you learn to control it, I’m freaking superman in wolf form. Little Johnny is getting bit as soon as he’s an adult.

On the Vindicaar we see plenty of draenei children on a ship full of lightforged draenei.

Becoming lightforged is a rite of passage ceremony

I’ll have to look into that.

And on the other hand, naga-cursed kaldorei lay naga eggs.

Unlike the Forsaken, I don’t believe the Gilneans have any desire to keep their unnatural state propagated, and don’t actually wish to inflict the curse on the unwilling.

So, I’m sure the vast majority of Gilnean Worgen would be just fine with their descendants being relegated to living lives as “normal” Humans.

Judging by Lorna Crowley and Tess Greymane, that is correct. Their fathers are keeping the curse to themselves. Except when it comes to Hillsbrad Refugees of course.

Plus, the Wolf Cult still exists, and is spreading the curse to this day. The Bloodfang Pack were the worgen that first attacked Gilneas to bite as many as possible, and they still live. The worgen in Duskwood are a branch of the Wolf Cult as well, and regularly spread the curse to willing aspirants and unwilling victims, swelling their numbers by the day. All it would take is for the Wolf Cult to strike again, and there would be another generation of playable “woe is me” worgen.

Looking at that pic, I find myself torn between “Oooh, how adorable” and “Those kids need a slap upside the head”…

Much less of a concern now that the Forsaken has probably-more-sane leadership, but with undeath still being a potential threat I can see why a Gilnean parent might decide to do this. Forsaken may disagree but I’d bet most other Azerothians would take being cursed over being raised any day of the week.

I…think people are putting to much thought into this…
