If WOTLK is coming out in 2022 then why bother with Sunwell? With just a few months left in the year and guilds still progressing in BT there won’t be enough time for most people to either enjoy Sunwell or obtain much of the harder to obtain items to bring into WOTLK especially if the same cloning service is going to be used. If cloning is used again this time then hardly anyone is going into WOTLK with the mount from Magister’s terrace, warglaives, ashes of al’ar or the legendary bow from Kil’jaeden. Everything feels so rushed. I’m hoping they do something different this time and give players a fair chance to obtain things before WOTLK comes out.
Why skip it? Its a great raid.
Who is still progressing in BT? Even casual guilds cleared BT and hyjal week 1…
Yes it is, and we need enough time to do it and get loot from it. Please read the OP.
There is no cloning as there won’t be permanent TBC servers.
If its released in a few weeks, we will have time.
Wrath is Q4.
A lot of people? WoW isn’t contained to the little bubble you play in.
But he’s right. If you are still on progress for BT/MH you will never pass the first boss in sunwell anyway so… you can just stop playing until WotLK before you cry to have sunwell nerfed after 1 month
Its the rerelease. Most people care more about actually getting to do the content than bringing cool purple/orange loot into the next expansion. So long as there is enough time for a majority of people to finish sunwell and clear it for a few weeks it should be fine.
Definitely a bit rushed but it’ll be alright.
I recall Blizzard mentioning that they were planning both a pre and post nerf SWP. I’d be curious to know just how long pre-nerf will last.
With all the crying babies playing the game now ? Maximum 2 months…
if SWP arrive on 10May then you have at least 4months to raid SWP before Pre-wotlk hits at September with all the nerfs to swp, then maybe wotlk will hit in October
That is not true at all. I had to take a break a few months ago and have just recently been able to come back to play. I am catching up. Its not about not being able to do it. Its about having enough time to do it. The first BT I did after coming back I was able to clear most of it not remembering most of the mechanics. Its all about time. I don’t want Sunwell nerfed. I just want enough time to get the things I want from it and actually enjoy the content.
TBC was always WotLK waiting room for me anyway.
It is true. Random trade chat pugs clear BT. If you’re in a guild that is STILL progressing, you aint clearing squat in Sunwell.
I understand but techicallly it’s not our fault if you took a break. If Sunwell is release mid-may (my initial bet was beginning of June) and WotLK in November we will have 5 month and half in Sunwell that is for me really correct. On that five months and half Phase 5 you can put a five months pre-nerf and an half month for the post-nerf. For me no need to skip Sunwell…
That has to be a myth
Not everyone is supposed to have glaives or ashes. They are legendary for a reason. You’re not supposed to farm every tier of content for a year so everyone get legendary.
This is actually my guess as well. I’m guessing mid-may SWP drop. September prepatch, and wrath drop in October.
Just like last time, most people won’t bother with it, due to the how the gear/power inflation works between xpacs.
