It’s just bad in SS right? Like I mess around on a lot of classes but oh my god, I’ve never felt more helpless than trying to do SS as a shadow priest.
Wizk did pretty well with it in the shuffle tournament. Got 2nd or 3rd with it.
Maybe it’s better at high level play? It seems like no one is playing it at all based on check pvp.
It’s just one of those specs that have a really high skill cap.
I’m pretty average so I guess I’ll pass then haha. Thanks for the info
I mean it’s fine at mid to high levels, just struggle a lot of low level play.
It just seems like a lot of effort for the same result, ya know? I’m not deeply invested in the spec so I would rather play something a little harder to shut down.
It requires coordination id say
Well you aren’t finding any of that in low rank ss
shadow is typically not great in SS due to how free melee have it, but we’re quite good in 3s and i wouldn’t really advocate for any buffs or nerfs outside of reverting mass dispel to 45s CD baseline
How about no that lol
how about, yes because sanc and reverse magic exist. weird how you always post bias in favour of ret paladins
Md has infinitely more uses than sanc. And all of them are incredibly toxic for the game.
It’s only going to do well with very specific comps. Your team also needs to peel for you constantly because you don’t have the peels to do it yourself consistently. Their mobility is also a major issue. No mobility and no real tankiness. Just target dummies for melee all game.
I’ve stopped trying to make Shadow work in PvP and geared my Balance Druid, the difference is night and day. I can actually play the game. I was tired of role playing as a target dummy in arenas.
Hoping Blizzard makes Shadow feel fun to play again. No class should play this niche in a modern game with such restricted comp requirements— hardly any other specs feel as bad to play as Shadow Priest. That’s bad game design, not “high skill cap”. Rogues are high skill cap, but they have good game design and are nowhere near as terrible to play for a casual player as Shadow Priest.
uh huh because being perma immune while doing 100% damage in a bubble isnt toxic. weird how the only thing that countered paladins, while ret has been S tier for 4 years, is a problem
shoutout to hpals having an aoe dispel that acts like only 1 debuff was hit too, that’s totally fair
edit:
wow i looked you up and you actually are a ret paladin main. that’s hilarious. might as well post on your main now, yuji-darkspear
anyways no, i dont want 30s fast cast mass dispel back. i just want 45s normal cast that way it’s not up for every cc go and rets can proc a spell warden 15s before md is up if they need.
So being able to dispel 90% of cc in the game, pre dispel dots on a god, dispel multiple defensive cd’s is balanced and should be a short cd?
Also if I cared I would’ve hidden my character.
45s isn’t a short cd is the thing lol. i will say it’s likely way too cheap mana wise now too so it could be a bit more pricey. being able to dispel isn’t that dandy when you can just… idk… interrupt it.
good cupids for example always cross me for cc. good rmps always cross everyone etc. it being 45s again means its not even up for every cc chain like it was. 2min normal cast is not feasible.
also the 1min talent isn’t even that viable to play. that’s really the main issue rofl. it’s a flat 2min while reverse/sanc are 45/1min and also instant.
every ret main is the same. vehemently against the few things that counter them while ignoring the fact they’ve been disgusting for 4 years along with warr. guarantee once the current outliers are nerfed, we’re back into yet ANOTHER ret warr meta haha
Yeah, that’s how it feels for me. I’ve messed around on ele, enhance, boomy, fdk, bm, dev evo, all the lock specs and marks. Nothing feels as rough the play as shadow for me. It seems so easy to shut down and you spend the whole match trying to create a little room to actually DO something. I understand that if you’re a top player playing with other top players it might be better, but I’m not and I’m never going to be so I’ll just play something that normal humans can play.
100%. People always bring up “well x person has this rating on Shadow”, like cool they’re gods I guess? The average player does not want to join a game and literally sweat so hard and play super gimmicky with more effort than the healers in a lobby even, just to make a spec that has numerous design flaws “work”.
I’ve stopped hard complaining about Shadow because Blizzard just doesn’t really seem to care right now, and whatever, that’s fine. I’m just going to play my Balance Druid, Devastation Evoker, Mage, and Ret Pally because I can actually play the game and not die or use trinket Dispersion in the first 30 seconds of the match. Got tired of playing against brainless Demon Hunters and zugging Arms Warriors when I was hyper coordinating my gameplay in matches on Spriest just to keep my head above the water.
this is because melee are really strong and oppressive atm and the top tier casters never have to cast or rely on pets.
once blizz does more tuning, spriest will feel a lot better. except ele and boomy still prob wont have to ever cast for dmg lol
