I’m going to make a Lightforged Draenei Rogue. So many shenanigans to be had.
So for fun, what’s your favourite forbidden race/class combinations?
I would probably remake Gentarn here into a Druid in a heartbeat, while I also do love the concept of a Kaldorei Paladin of Elune, and a Forsaken Paladin, of course.
A Pandaren Warlock also sounds very fun, as does a Draenei Warlock, possibly an Eredar that repented and joined the Draenei, or maybe one who studied the Legion and was responsible for cataloguing various Demon-kind and -kith?

Bring on the Tauren Rogues! It’s long over due and there is so much fun that is going to be hard in the community with it. I also feel like Tauren Mages can make for great leywalkers in RP as well so there’s going to be some more excitement there.

A very long time ago, back when you could use a website to make fake items to post (I can’t rememberif it was a Wowhead April Fool’s/Curse Gaming thing or not we’re talking like 2007 or something), I suggested the idea of ‘rubber horseshoes’ for Tauren that would allow them to unlock the rogue talent trees. I am amused that it is happening.

While the idea of a stealthy bull man 7 to 9 feet tall sneaking around on his hooves breaks my logic brain…
…My illogic brain can only say that they’ve always been here we’ve just never seen them because they are that sneaky.

I need warlocks added to this “classes everyone gets” list!
I can give 'em a pass on druids, shamans and paladins since they all involve unique assets and specific cultural themes.
But warlocks have no race-specific assets, and they’re equally hated by all cultures!
Is a Lightforged warlock somewhat dumb? Yes. Is it dumber than a Lightforged shadow priest? No!

Eledris is, ICly, already a druid, and I desperately hope that “we kinda feel like we want to move towards a world where the race of a character is not a limiter” means that I will – maybe even by the end of Dragonflight! – be able to double-roll him as one.
I don’t have any specific character concepts to apply to a Forsaken or Night Elf paladin, but I really want them to exist. I just feel like they should. Also, a little more out there, Forsaken death druids with Drust-like shapeshift forms would make me happy.
I’m super excited. I’ve been a Tauren ‘rogue’ since BC. Never thought it would actually happen.

Tauren rogues, I never thought it would happen! A good choice for a Holy Strider, I think.

To be fair, I think anyone with a nose would smell a forsaken rogue coming from a mile away.

I smell like bourbon and Old Spice.

If the goal is really to make every race available to every class, I wonder which would be the easiest and hardest.
Druids and their specialized shapes seem like the biggest challenge. But they’ve already done it a bunch of times, so…
Warlocks, Paladins and Shamans also feel like they wouldn’t need much other than a few specific graphics for flavor here and there.
What’s that leave? Monks?
One day. One day I want transformer style mechagnome druids. Please Blizzard, do something cool with mechagnomes.

It’s true, especially for the Shu’halo. Our snouts are big enough as is. You can smell the rotting corpses a million miles away.

My rogue is sitting Horde side and tempted to either ace change to a Tauren or Faction Change to a Draenei.
I plan on playing Shaman and Monk in the next expansion but I usually always level my rogue at some point for ez mode gathering farming and I am paralyzed with making a decision. I guess it depends on which faction I’ll be playing the most when it comes to it or I just say screw it and do it as soon as 10.0 comes out.
The funniest thing about Rogues specifically is how often people cite immersion, which I do in fact respect and don’t mean to disparage… mostly, as if WoW’s stealth of being invisible in broad daylight as long as you’re anywhere except directly in front of your target was ever particularly immersive or logical in the first place.
Like Orcs and Trolls aren’t as wide and tall respectively as Tauren in the first place.
Anyways if I come back at all it’ll be for the Drac’thyr but if I stick around for more than a week then it’ll be for a Tauren rogue.
It’s also funny when people argue size and say Draenei and Tauren are far too large to possibly be sneaky and I’m like EXCUSE ME have you seen Kul Tirans? They are just as tall!!
Okay I know they’re a late addition to the game but we’ve also had plenty of in game examples of Draenei and their fel snorting no contact Eredar cousins using stealth. I think even one of the Lightforge guys you find stealth somewhere during one of the Argus campaign quests.
Speaking of Lightforge, I wonder if that means they will toss em a bone and let them be monks? Their mirror race Horde side was HMT which could not be Paladins and Priests. Yet now that HMT can be priests, will that free up the Monk slot for LFD?
Anyway I’m going to headcanon that Draenei and Tauren/HMT put cute little booties on their hooves and they stealth around like this.

4 new rogues for my rogue collection. More hyped about that than anything else to be honest, though the talent tree revamp does mean that having 4 versions of Sef on my main acct and an acct just for rogues will be great because: less “sameish”.
I REALLY want a Goblin monk, too, and have a 60 Orc monk ready to be race changed. The animations are there for monks so hopefully we get that soon.
Forbidden, hmm…
Forsaken Paladin, probably. Goblin Paladin with WRENCH OF WRATH.
Still salty they didn’t give Horde Gilgoblins in the Nazjatar/Mechagon patch and let them be druids w/ Zandalari forms – and also let Mechagnomes be druids with mech/transformer forms. (and given Horde Vulpera and Alliance Sethrak at a different point in the expac but that’s a whole other discussion).
Yeah, I want some uh… unorthodox Paladins for sure.
But my new favorite forbidden class is a Gnome Evoker who does the dragon breath attacks as farts.

Additionally, the BfA cinematic where Saurfang went to grab Thrall showed us that Rogue stealth is at least partially magical in nature, given the two Forsaken assassins were literally invisible until he grabbed one and yanked it out of the air. Probably some form of very low-level Shadow magic. Even if the Tauren and Draenei have issues with their hoofsteps, they can certainly learn how to bend light around them.

OH YAH! Gentarn once made the very cool suggestion that Lightforge Draenei rogue is not using shadow magic to stealth but simply manipulating the light to make them invisible.
It’s honestly an extremely cool take on being invisible.

Effectively, would probably function like this.
