Nice buffs but that just didn’t change anything, every other melee does more dmg and they have a mortal strike. and they have more mobility, and as much healing, and more defensives, and the only thing they lack is easy support abilities like sanc, sac, and 5 min cd bop/spellward. DH has darkness which is the same as sac but better. hunter has literally sac but better, and some others like war have intervene which is sac but better, sooo on.
Then ret only has sanc left but what is there to sanc when your always kill target cuz you flop ( go back read the begining ‘‘least amount of defensives’’) therefor it will be the one cross cced with the healer to get killed. which means you cannot sanc unless you have trinket nice ( even then your healer is 90% not in line because your being rooted snare without freedom cuz the mage stole it in 0.1 sec or the evoker removed it whilst doing his basic rotation and didn’t even notice).
Wtf is the state of paladin now. its either everyone plays it cuz its the most popular role fantasy and therefor gets nerfed because everyone plays it even tho its never the best ( even in DF season 1 there were some hidden broken specs that went under the radar because of ret popularity) and it just always gets the treatment of ‘’ JUST FIND GOOD TEAMATES TO CARRY YOU ‘’ situation. Gg vanguards has the most experienced teamates in the world with ret and mastered the spec so he’s able to get gladiator because his friends are down to play with him even tho he’s not playing the meta. Crazy how that is not the case for 99% of pvpers which is already 0.1% of the player base. thats such a low amount of players its unreal.
Well i guess dh always becomes good in the end, so either that or play a ww so your always viable in the meta unlike paladin.
I can’t speak for 3s, but for RSS… it’s not as bad as people are making it sound. I think most people just don’t understand the win condition for ret in RSS.
Rets abilities are all ranged, you can kite melee while doing dmg, you don’t have to be on ranged to hit and you keep your team alive into dampening “your win condition”.
That being said, it probably still is one of the lower tier melee though… Just not as bad as people seem to make it out to be. If you try to face tank other melee, and bubble early, you’re kinda screwed.
Ret is strong in shuffle because you’re adding two extra big healing CDs that ignore dampening to your team in a mode dictated by dampening. But in rated where you have to actually score a kill Ret is laughable
Rets only real problem atm is it lacks lethal damage, but should a spec with a super loaded utility kit also have lethal damage? probably not, in a balanced game anyways.
I’m sure ret will eventually catch a few buffs that push it over the top at some point.
