I’ve been working through Bastion, and I keep reading this thing ‘Soulbind’ Our best transboy calls the one winged girl this, and a the black angel refers to one as her soulbind, What exactly is a soulbind?
Now, I may have a bad memory and not remember if it was explained, but, does anyone know? :V I am sorry, I just kind of need to know. lmao, It’s bugging me to the point of actually making me mad. Hah.

The way the Kyrian describe it is basically a form of like, low-level telepathy, where you share in your soulbind’s memories and emotions.
Interestingly, you can be soulbound to two different people at once, which by the transitive property I guess means that Person C can see both Person A and Person B’s memories?
Blue people, I tell ya.

Thank you for the information, I feel kind of dumb now, I was thinking something romantic like – Undead marriage or something, hah~!
In a way it kind of is, you do this questline in Bastion where you have to help this Kyrian woman who sends out a proposal her girlfriend to soulbind with, and the entire thing is coded as basically a marriage proposal. Both were extremely excited.

The last thing I want is my Soulbind seeing a montage of me autorunning off of cliffs to my death.

Yeah, it’s kind of a not-marriage where you literally link your souls to a point. Joining the Kyrian has you do the thing first off since the Soulbinds are also the named heroes for your adventure board. For some, it seems like a marriage and others it’s kind of a student-turned-equal relationship.
bottom line do dead people canoodle or what
…that is horrifying. Like, holy crap that is…no. NO. Hell to the no.
As someone who is a huge fan of reincarnation romances and stories/narratives with soulmates, I find the whole concept incredibly romantic.

Anyone else getting Aes Sedai and Warder vibes from soulbinding or is that just me.

Nope, it’s something from the Wheel of Time series.
Boiling it down to the basics, the Aes Sedai bonds a Warder to her and both gain benefits from the relationship (some actually fall in love and get married, but its not very common). The Warder typically becomes stronger, faster, and more skilled than average men (its usually men, no spoilers from me) and the Aes Sedai gets someone who can fight those foes who threaten them but not enough to allow them to break their oaths.
That’s the poor man’s summary. Something interesting to note is that if the Aes Sedai dies, the Warder usually goes berserk trying to avenge them, but if the Warder dies the Aes Sedai just gets a severe depression. Assuming the actual soulbind process works similar to Warder bonding, what happens if one of the soulbindees is perma-killed?

Miko, you’re in the Alliance. You’re not allowed to go shirtless.
Also, as for soulbinds, probably not gonna end up caring much about the ones not Niya on my druid.
This is absolutely the vibe I’m getting. It’s a soul bond that gives both sides benefits and a deeper understanding of each other.
At the same time you can change your soulbind. When I joined my covenant there was a brief npc conversation that made it sound like I was prime real estate and many people wanted to buy into my soul timeshare.

Friendly reminder that none of the goat people in Ardenweald wear pants.
The females wear tops, but no pants.
