Back in my day I could get a lot done while a patch downloaded, make a sandwich, walk to 7/11 for a Slurpee, change my oil, get a contractors license, start saving for kids college fund, have some kids, visit kids in college, then check and see if patch has went from 8% done up to 9%.

I must have joined when technology was rolling then. 56k was my starting point, hence 128k being rocking. (60 seconds to download the picture of a scanned one dollar bill).

i remember when i first installed Asheron’s Call back in the day. after 4 hours of laying on my bed watching tv waiting for it to finish, i got mad and said eff it im going to bed, it will be done when i get up in the morning… nope. had to stop it and start it back up when i went to bed the next night and it was finally done when i got up in the morning… Dial up was hell…
