I open my bags and I start hyperventilating.
I have so much stuff and I have no idea what I can use and not use. What I can upgrade and not upgrade. 15 of these = 1 of something. No idea what to do with that something.
I am so overwhelmed I literally do not want to log in. I’m afraid to actually loot stuff as every time I do something else goes into my backpack that I’m petrified to sell or delete because I might need it later.
Why is this game and patch so overwhelming for me?
Am I alone?

You could always go to an upgrade NPC and see what works by using in-game tooltips.
Well, when you click on Whelping Fragments it gives you a Whelpling Crest, which clearly says “Used to upgrade higher-level Adventurer and lower-level Veteran gear, or to craft an optional reagent for crafted gear.”
All gear has a type on its description, which is in-game if you simply over the gear… Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, and Hero. Different crests can upgrade different tracks of gear, but the crest says right on it what it can upgrade.
Gear still has an item-level, so clearly upgrading high-level gear is better than upgrading low-level gear.
Is it really that overwhelming? I know there are spreadsheets and fancy graphics on Wowhead and elsewhere, but you can figure this stuff out in-game if you just read what the game is telling you.
so what you’re saying…is we need more larger bags? Tailors maybe finally getting the ability to make 40+ slot bags for reagents and inventory maybe?
Hello, I see you replied to the thread. Haha, what a bunch of nonsense! No wonder classic has been booming lately, haha!
Thanks for your post and have a great day!
Thanks for all of this… Ok… so what is the difference between flightstones and crests? For some reason I am not understanding where one starts and stops and the other begins. (sorry to ask in OP’s post). Is it different armor types that each one upgrades… or what?
Doesn’t discount the fact that the system is overly busy and convoluted. Instead of “combine 15 of these to make 1 of these”, they could have just said “get 1 of these at this rank” and be done with it.
But again I guess that would have been too easy? I’m assuming next season it will be combine 15 of these to get 1 of these, then take that item but combine it with this other item twice to make this other item then you can upgrade.

Not overwhelmed as much as I loathe yet another system. However, the fragments are pretty easy to grasp. Just collect a bunch of them, right click on them to create a crest at a 15 to 1 ratio. Keep doing that until it won’t let you. Then go see the upgrade mole inside the inn in Loamm. Click on him, then drop a piece of gear from your bag or something you have equipped inside the upgrade box that pops up. There’s a little dropdown bar at the top of that window that shows you the levels of upgrade. Click on the number 8 upgrade. If the piece you threw into the box doesn’t turn purple by level 8, don’t waste your time and crests on it, sell it. If you keep doing the above you’ll eventually have a few purple 411s-424s.
For what? Crests and fragments go into your reagent bag and there aren’t that many you need to keep on you. Put the ones you won’t use in your bank. At most, you’re looking at taking up 8 slots. At most.
Flightstones come from just about everything and they are in your currency tab. They are the base currency for everything. Crests are both currency and a crafting reagent, which is why they end up in your reagent bag. Crests are split up into different difficulties, it’s how they address the higher levels and incentivize running higher content. So yes, there’s different levels of gear that will require different levels of Crests.
Does that help at all? I can try to explain better if it didn’t.
With bag space, don’t be an engineer to boot.

shh…trying to get Blizz to cave and give us huge reagent bags since they’re so dead set on not giving us more reagent storage tabs in the bank. The chronoweave only goes to I think 36 and I’d love to see a 40+ if I can’t get more pages to store mats in my bank
