So.. Outland

What’s happened to Outland over the past 13 years?

We’re kinda running out of expansion ideas so I expect a revamped Outland will come out as some point but is there even anything left of it? Is it just sinking into the Nether or something?

Thrall moved there and started a farm. The end.

I’m sad to see that’s literally the only thing they’ve done with it

It’s a bug-ridden mess.

Outland is implied to be falling apart “like the Horde” so it will probably become food for the Twisting Nether within the next 10,000 years.

Oh wow I didn’t know that ima go chill there now, forget capital cities, horde and alliance should come to this farm to afk together in a cool area

Probably not much. We saw Nagrand recently and it’s still the same. But Outland is broken beyond repair, it’s just kind of floating around the Nether.

I don’t think they’ll really ever revamp it because that’d be the third Draenor/Outland based expansion, which is overkill. Blizz is usually very creative thinking up new places to go though, there’s no shortage of ideas for future expansions. Shadowlands itself is entirely new from scratch. The Dragon Isles is also a spot we might see eventually.

That was the original concept for WoD, but that obviously got scrapped in favor of semi-time travel. It’s supposed to have been degenerating since its creation, but it’s apparently at such a slow pace that Nagrand is the same and Thrall thought it was a nice place to be a farmer.

I’m hoping they do Dragon Isles and make something decent out of it for a patch at least.

Well if I understand the SL plan…

all prior expacs will need to debugged at a minimum, since the plan is that players can choose to level 10-50 in any expac TBC-BfA. Now obviously most players will avoid Pathfinger expansions like the plague so that leaves TBC-MoP. # TBC and Wrath are heavily bugged to my knowledge. Hope they get fixed.

Burning Crusade specifically is just overloaded with quest-breaking bugs. Wrath gets stopped up with certain quests (esp. Icecrown) but is… reasonably playable.

At least he got to watch the sun come up on a grateful Azeroth…

Hey, on the bright side at least Thrall could pillage some of Outland’s few natural resources before it crumbles into the Nether.

Oh, that’s not the end … The end is when it comes out that he was growing felweed and selling it on the black market. That’ll be the pre-expansion event for the upcoming World of Warcraft: Vice City.

It’s just there. Slowly crumbling.

BUT!

I vote we use this to make it a hub to travel to different planets:

Outland had become one of the most important strategic places. Many of Ner’zhul’s portals were permanently open and the world now acted as a crossroads for any force that wished to travel quickly from one end of the universe to the other.

So Outland is an intergalactic train station now. I… kinda like that.

Still gonna pillage its mineral resources before it all goes poof though!

We can turn Shattrath into a large train station!

I always kinda thought WoD was supposed to be the ‘revamped outland’, and then they realized they didnt want to delete old content so they made a new one instead of changing the old one so as to not ‘delete content’

Well, I’m looking forward to demons returning without Sargeras.

They’re older than the titans. If they did I’d hope Outland would act as a staging ground in some level. Or…just an integralactic train station as mentioned above.
