just read on mmo champion that players with keystone master achievements will be be able to upgrade their gear to 226??? and what about the rest of us blizzard??? so happy i cancelled my sub

There are now 3 brackets
Completing all 8 dungeons at each bracket allows the upgrade to a certain ilvl

Doesn’t really bother me. Your ilvl will match the content difficulty you are trying to accomplish.
If all you do is open world, wq, heroic dungeons you’ll be around ilvl 197 which makes you very overpowered for all of that content.
If you get mythic+5 achievements (on the PTR now) you can upgrade your gear to an ilvl that will be close to trivializing that difficulty.
And so on, up to keystone masters who can upgrade to ilvl 220. While not technically max, an ilvl average 220 player will not have any issues (related to gear) with that level of content difficulty. Of course they still have to deal with the mechanics at play in a +15 dungeon.
Same goes for raiding and PvP, you get item level that makes you competitive at that difficulty level.
There is no scenario where completing your covenenant campaign and some WQs provides gear to make you competitive for +15 dungeons, 2200 ranked PvP, and mythic raiding. You would need to work your way up through those difficulty levels earning the gear that lets you progress to that content.

By the time the implement these changes, I will have all my loot to 226, so don’t worry for us, this is not an advantage.
Also, push your key and you’ll get KSM too. I pugged all mines.

To be fair, by the time you can legitimately time all dungeons at +15, you don’t
really need 220 gear. Emphasis on the word legitimately here.

Pretty sure there’s two breakpoints at least. Don’t need KSM to upgrade, but you need it to hit max ilevel rewards.

It’s for mythic+, imagine it like doing LFR for X ilvl, Norm for Y ilvl etc…
Like difficulty increases… at least that’s how I see it.

getting salty you cant upgrade your gear to mythic quality for doing cake contentÂż
wanting it to be timed 5s to get welfare gear thats some of the best in the game? i dont understand how people want to invest so little time, or not do any content and get such good gear

eh, idk. I got KSM weeks ago, and have three or four slots I could upgrade with 220 gear.
