So now we know what the Jailer wanted to do..... Do we? (Possible Spoilers)

I wish I could unsub twice.

Danuser is such an incompetent writer. It actually makes me angry.

Either way they are going to need retcons. So I am fine with that if it fixes the story to be better. I liked Slyvannas’ character. The story went south after war of thorns. All I care for is they fix the story up. Retcons are needed. For the benefit of the story. And these part of some. If you think her losing culpability is bad? I do not, I think it helps explain her character change. We have known she was hearing whispers from Lordaeron since Cataclysm, and we knew it wasn’t the old gods.

I think her losing agency is bad. I think removing any nuance or ambiguity from her character is bad. I think making everything bad in the universe ā€œZovaal did itā€ is lazy and further diminishes the already low quality of the Warcraft story. I think the gaping plot holes created by Zovaal being not only the mastermind but the actual, literal puppeteer of every evil actor in the Warcraft universe render the entire narrative pointless and not even worth the investment it’s required for me to type this post.

In many stories often times the big bad has been doing stuff behind the scenes. Marvel does that all the time in there stories. Retcons make hero changes in the story to change narrative direction. And is often used to explain changes in character behaviors. I guess I am used to seeing that in those stories. Slyvanas was acting off since cataclysm after her suicide dive. So I guess for me this would be a nice explanation for it.

Or shirt. He’s mad because he’s been neglected.

Zovaal is not acting behind the scenes. Zovaal has his hands crammed in the puppets and makes them dance.

Sylvanas fighting the Legion? Zovaal fighting Zovaal. Are you %!&$ing kidding me? Ugh. It’s insulting.

Edit:

I’m backing out of this conversation. It actually makes me angry, and that’s no way to feel about a dumb story.

If you think someone manipulating two (or more) sides of a conflict in order to maintain the appearance of being uninvolved while still arriving at an outcome they desire is unrealistic, I advise you to take basically any history course. Maybe start with 20th century US history, that will get you there pretty quickly.

Double agents and triple agents exist lol.

I’m convinced that they are just writing one patch at a time now. There is no more A leads to B leads to C leads to finale.

It’s ā€œWe wrote A, what should we do with B?ā€ and then they lightly connect them with some half-thought-out lukewarm donkey water of a narrative using buzzwords from the last patch.

Do we have an answer as to what Sylvanas wanted out of her deal with Zovaal? Was it always just her other soul fragment?

Didn’t we already fight the unmaker?
