ESO is a nice alternative. One of my go to game’s when I take wow breaks.
But I always come back to wow. Always.
it’s also novel to play a MMO where the end-game pve content sucks. Novel isn’t necessarily a good thing. FFXIV can’t hold a candle to WoW
every single season that a server reset, the new pop would be less and less and less while the cost of server overhead would stay the same or go up with inflation. it’s a dying idea, blizzard would never do it. Seasonal servers = trash idea

Seasonal is the trashiest and most idiotic I’ve ever seen. Not to mention how cringe it is to see someone arguing in favor of it.

Pretty sure FFXIV has a larger sub base. The endgame, as well as activities to do while leveling, are real quality compared to what WoW has put out the last several years. I can count on one hand what things to do on retail sadly.
I see the Blizzard forum warriors are out in full force in this thread. I’m sure there’s a market for seasonal servers. Classic was all about the leveling. Retail is a boring end game slog of chores.
The only way to keep things fresh is to wipe all the data from the server. Unless there are other alternatives I’m not aware of.
This isn’t going to happen. Especially after players have forked out $35 for their character copies.
They could make a “fresh” server, I guess? But I don’t think they’ll do that either. If they do it means there would be fresh classic servers, the cloned classic servers, and classic TBC servers (and eventually classic Wrath servers). This just doesn’t realistic to me at all.
I suppose you’re not familiar with the developers vision of World of Warcraft version 1.0. It’s ok, its been over 15 years and most of those developers are either gone or forgot. I even remember the first video advertising of World of Warcraft version 1.0. If you find it, let me know what kind of game the developers created.
If there ever was a consumer desire to re-live that experience, it would be that.

well i still got like 4 more mythic bosses in to kill in retail…after that, who knows.
too bad the pvp is complete trash or ide hop ship also
