No, Iām completely about a faster rep grind for SoD ā thatās to be expected. Thatās why I wasnāt having an issue with lumber turn-ins up to revered. Which significantly speeds up the total rep grind.

i think part of it is all the p1 wsg premades are enjoying getting wiped by trade chat pugs in stv and their egos cant handle it.

If you are playing efficiently, it takes 4 hours of gameplay to go from reverered to exalted using lumber from STV. That is trivializing AB rep. If youāre playing only at half efficiency, it will take you 8 hours of gameplay.
This is bad design. Imagine if you had no reason to raid because you had everything you needed in 8 hours. It would be dumb. And arguing that some people will just raid for fun is disingenuous.

Actually, I am an advocate for anti-gear-as-progression, I think it adds a huge level of toxicity to the game, results in old, and even current content getting trivialised, and imbalances pvp horribly between the haves and have-nots.
Raids and pvp should reward cosmetic progression, but stats should be given to the player to allocate as they desire within a specific stat budget
By playing eff you mean having 4 unemployed friends available for 12 hours straight every day for BM events with me? For mediocre items and 1 slot, at best, to be filled on my character? Waaah
No it only takes like 2 weeks to go from revered to exalted if youāre winning most games. Maybe three if your youāre winning half the games. Playing about 3-4 hours a day.

But turning that into 4 hours of gameplay is extreme overkill and illustrative of massive ineptitude in design.
The only players supporting it are coddled retail players only interested in game killing raid logging.
Which is exactly what SoD will result in because of these developers being on the wrong project.
If people dont play AB for the fun of it then they probably werent gonna play it anyways.

What was the tail end of P1 WSG like?
You had 1 of 3 general options for a WSG match.
Option 1) Be in a premade that stomped a pug until they AFKād in their graveyard so you could cap the flag 3 times for an 8 minute win (205 Rep)
Option 2) Be in a premade that matched against another premade and fight for the 5-10 minutes until one got the flag capture, then the other AFKād to give them the remaining 2 so everyone could āgo next.ā
Option 3) Be the Pug, and go AFK against a premade and take your token.
Thatās not playing a BG⦠people were just there to get their exalted for 40 bracers. (Itās the first, and last time Iāll have ever been exalted with WS- I hate that BG.)
AB? I thoroughly enjoy AB and will be playing it when I feel like PvPing and STV isnāt up. That includes once Iām exalted.
Iām pretty sure anyone who is there because they enjoy it instead of needing Exalted or Honor will actually play the gameā¦arguably better matches- and probably more chilled people since a loss doesnāt mean loss of progress towards exalted.
Yes and some people would raid without any rewards too. But it doesnāt mean it would be a very popular activity. Doesnāt mean that it would be good design to make raids stop giving loot after a day or so because you could get all the raid drops in 4 hours of STV turn ins, for example.
Better design would be having substantive rewards or goals one is going after for the content they are engaging in.
Also, by the time honor is viable, the gear will be obsolete according to the sticky. Rank 14 wonāt open up until AQ. Which makes it meaningless. So that was already a problem.
This is just the final nail in the coffin. I thought the phases would be at least fun. Oh well.
In fairness, psychology papers have been written on the effects of extrinsic rewards impacting the intrinsic fun of a particular activity.
Basically, when you tie rewards to something, it rewires your brain to stop enjoying that activity for its pure fun value. Thats why I think putting the pvp reward tracks into something outside of the BGs is actually good for the game, as it allows the BGs to actually be enjoyed for their intrinsic fun value.
And there it is.
raids should stop giving gear after the first week. People should just play it for the love of raiding. The quality of raiders will go up.
