I’m reading posts that have basically said mythic+ dungeon running has been severely nerfed in terms of rewards and people will run it far less.
As someone who comes from FFXIV where I ALREADY do savage and ultimate tier raids I really didn’t want to deal with trying to organize 10+ people just to run more raids.
It’s honestly nightmare-fuel enough in FFXIV managing 8. I don’t want to do more.
But getting this straight, mythic+ now is irrelevant content as far as I can tell?
Well it’s officially time to kill this druid then, and now I flat out have no idea what to play.
Or even why to play. Mythic+ was what made WoW stand out from FFXIV. No offense but I saw Nzoth raid’s mechanics and compared to Shiva Savage they are not that interesting.
I really really am not sure what to do with respect to this. I wanted to do the mythic dungeon grind. Not deal with EASIER mechanics than FFXIV raid mechanics but need to deal with more jerks to organize… UGHHHHHHH WHYY.

Easier raids than Shiva Savage by far but the actual bottleneck is getting 10 people to wack something with you. Eughhhhhhhhhh
I feel the same way. I do almost exclusively M+ content and it is what has kept me playing the game for as long as I have. I’m glad I didn’t buy their 6-month gametime package because unless they fix this slap in the face I’ll be moving on to other games.
If you don’t want to raid, don’t raid. Your gear progression will just be limited to the content you do. You will get bis for that content. Just like I will never Mythic Raid, my bis will be Heroic Raid.
You do realize from Vanilla up until Legion there was no other way besides raiding to get end game good/bis gear right? There was no M+, Warfronts, etc. Only raid or pvp.
If you don’t plan on raiding or doing m+ as the alternative then you really don’t need the top gear if you aren’t willing to put in the time/work. You won’t need it for doing casual content.
Mythic+ is a horrible system of doing dungeons. An utter mindless endless hamster wheel that should never have been implemented the way it was. Good riddance. Bring back the old way of progression. We should NOT have a million ilevels of stratification. If we keep doing that all we’ll ever have is tons upon tons of gear bloat like we’ve been having. We never needed a stat squish until 4 expansions in and now we’re having them almost every, if not every other, expansion. It’s a MESS. GET RID OF IT AND GET RID OF M+'s NEAR INFINITE GRIND. GET RID OF THE DOZENS OF RAID DIFFICULTIES. Go Back to having Normal>Heroic>Mythic dungeons and Normal>Heroic Raids with LFR for the tourists and kiddies…
I was going to do m+ personally, in fact that’s something that skewed me into that content.
In terms of old content, I appreciate the legacy but on the other hand-- that legacy still exists and is still dominant even today. I don’t know why we need to fall back into old 16 year old methodologies from 2004’s vanilla in 2020 though.
The problem with this perspective is that this takes out the granularity between players. Now all of a sudden if you’re not good enough to clear the absolute top tier raids you have no distinction between you or as you put it… a tourist…
Well, basically if you don’t want to do content that requires time and effort or harder content then you should absolutely not be able to get gear like that for doing emissaries or very easy and quick content. If you don’t want to raid but want to work on M+10 and higher, then awesome but you will need to put in work and time and just work your way up as the higher the M+ the better the gear.
I am referring to people who complain about having to raid or do higher M+ for better gear when they don’t want to do any of that so yeah, casual content in meaning running around zones doing nothing since they don’t want to raid or do higher m+. They will be fine in non raid/m+ gear for normal and h dungeons and IE and normal Warfronts.
“Better gear”. I’m not seeing any sort of gear upgrades for casuals at all, no matter how tiny.
If your perspective is that “casuals don’t actually play the game, they log in, do nothing, then log out again”, i guess you and Ion are on the same page.
This is the expansion that Ion will be turning this game from the largest MMO in the genre to a tiny game with a cult following.
I don’t think you understand my posts. I am talking about players who don’t want to raid or do higher M+ for the gear but want close to or the same type of gear for doing extremely easy content like emissaries for example. I know emissaries don’t offer this just saying it as an example.
So if someone doesn’t want to progress to harder content (you can be casual and do hard content fyi) via raids/higher m+ then they really don’t need the top gear or close to since there is nothing in the game that requires it besides heroic/mythic raiding and higher M+. You don’t need 470 ilvl to do dailies, Heroic IE, Warfronts and run around.
That is your opinion and you have absolutely no idea. Just because you are mad and upset doesn’t mean many are. I can say the complete opposite. So we shall see who is right.
Casuals are not asking for 470 gear. They never have.
If you think BfA heroic island expeditions and warfronts will be shadowlands casual content, then you’re clearly even more out of touch than I thought you were.
