So... no TINKERS?!

They’re not a class though

That is correct, No Tinkers.

Spell Breakers… but they could not be added in because they would destroy anyone in PvP who had any form of mana.

Necrolytes NOT the same as a Necromancer. Much more powerful. From WC1

Warden/Glaive Warden

Dark Ranger

Cleric More pure form of a priest.

Alchemist

Elder Sage

Just to name a few…so saying that everything has been used…false.

I would like to see a class or spec based on Samuro’s gameplay.

Are you new to the Warcraft universe?

Thankfully instead of providing tinkers we got the completely non-controversial and community supported lovechildren of Jar Jar Binks and a Komodo Dragon. They even threw in the transmog restrictions of Diaper Gnomes just to make it more fun!

I’m not for or against Tinkers, but so far all new classes have been introduced in expansions where they made sense.

Wrath introduced Death Knights, Pandaria introduced Monks, and Legion introduced Demon Hunters. Blizzard went with a dragon theme with Dragonflight and made a dragon type class/race. I think Tinker wouldn’t be introduced until they made a heavy tech/Titan themed expansion that focused on places like Uldaman/Ulduar etc.

Assuming Tinker would be a 2-spec class, I always imagined it would be a Mech-Suit Tank spec and a Torbjorn Style “hit the turret so the turret hits them” type of ranged dps spec.

Can’t imagine them being melee dps personally (not opposed to it but regardless)

If they did get a 3rd spec, I imagine a potion throwing nutcase with a few too many concoctions lol

Necrolytes?

Death Knights and Warlocks say hello.

Isn’t that just a Demon Hunter minus Metamorphosis?

Hunters can easily house all of their abilities.

Which is just a priest…

Monks already brew potions.

Which is just a fancy version of Mage.

None of these concepts are novel or interesting. They’re just rehashes/rebrands of what we already have.

Roll a Warrior or a Rogue.

Both are oval pegs for a round hole.

The problem is that Samuro as a class doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. It’s too MOBA for a MMO.

Real Talk I’m Way more disappointed that the class skins leak seems to have been fake than I am about tinkers.

Thats ALSO to bad.
:pensive:

That’s only true until it isn’t. People said the same of Illidan, but much of his design made it into the Demon Huber class.

Demon Hunters were never an issue. Warlocks had Metamorphosis in WotLk, and Rogues were already DWing swords and using evasive Shadow abilities. The Demon Hunter was a merely combination of those mechanics.

Samuro’s problem is that the entire concept revolves around mirror image, and the ability as expressed by the character is over the top in a PvE and PvP environment. In short, the only thing that makes the concept remotely interesting is a consistent Mirror Image uptime. It couldn’t work as a cooldown like Meta, it would have to be up almost all the time, or you just have an arms Warrior. However, a consistently uptimed Mirror Image is OP as hell in PvE and PvP, and would be a visual obstruction all ways around.

Engineering has always been about using devices that alter your gameplay in the world or combat. If they iterate on engineering for Dragonflight like the other professions, wouldn’t it logically then fill any tinker role?

They don’t really craft things to sell that much. So a deeper dive into engineering would basically create a tinker.

Once could make the same argument about turrets for Tinkers or a horde of demons with Demonology or the mere presence of playable dragons. It’s only problematic until those problems are resolved.

Thank God.
