And It’s to hot to game…anyone want to play some good old fashioned tabletop DND?
Honestly, I had a lot of fun cooking up my own pen and paper, and trying to write lore and world build. Even though nobody will ever see it, there was some good catharsis in just getting this world from my head to my hands.
I don’t have any A/C in the summer in this room(with my desktop). I tend to go a bit crazy looking for efficiency gains as a result :).
I usually stick to lower power parts. A lot of higher end GPUs can sometimes(depending on some factors, I guess it depends on a sku by sku basis) use a hefty amount of watts while idle. I remember getting a RTX 2060 and realizing it was using almost as much power while idle as my low-end card at max load. I even tried locking the frequency really low to reduce power, and it did terribly in terms of performance/watt. Was getting about double the wattage for just slightly better performance than my low-end card lol. Killed my efficiency build hopes and dreams, so I went back to my low-end GPU and sold the RTX to save myself from the summer heat.
I figured I’d be able to limit the RTX to a level I was happy with, but it didn’t work out.
