Sniper is something for tinkers and sappers.
I mean sure, I’m just saying they could have applied that to any of the pet models, it didn’t need to be an eagle. I’m indifferent on the change until I try it at any rate, at worst I hate it and play BM at best I don’t notice it anyway since I only take my pet out for the speed buff usually.
Hello, unintelligent person with bad information!
First, my paladin has been 80 for a while and the page hasn’t updated. Not like it matters, because
Secondly, not EVERY player is a zero patience sack of wasted organs who is focused solely on endgame and min-maxing.
Different players have different goals, and as someone who played on night one fresh coming from Everquest, mine are far different from those of the fools Blizzard drew with their tv campaigns.
Third, my hunter is oh, about level 76 or so and has existed since BC (before they, you know, dumbed the game down for trash).
Fourth, you cant see all my achievements, characters or any other information, only partial and incomplete/incorrect - and if you could, many of them took skill.
I had 20k Achievement points when I quit back after Legion and only recently returned right before TWW. So, Unless you’re looking for b.s. M+ or whatever crap - hard modes are a lame and lazy replacement for a real endgame - I don’t know what you’re attacking.
I earned SO many things in this game that have now just been handed out left and right for free. My warlock’s dreadsteed, keys, gated content…
I like my hunter pets, dont give a damn about the “meta” or “best” build for them (best is what is most fun / fulfills the players RPG goals best, period).
Naxx 40 was a real endgame. Earned and exclusive.
Pets were annoying
I’ve seen more “Don’t take the pet from MM,” than I have “DO IT!!!”
I’m in the “Don’t take the pet,” camp. If you want to make changes, allow people to spec into LW, like we can currently, but for those that choose to not have a pet, bring back ‘Aspect of the Hawk’, allowing MM to cast AiS while moving.
Except… 5% damage buff for LW, period (maybe 10%, like it used to be), and Hawk would still allow AiS while moving, but +5% to damage &/or allow for the mechanic that is being currently proposed (either way, no loss of DPS like the old mechanic). Move both of those towards the bottom of the talent tree so someone can’t spec into everything. No need to “create a fourth spec”, people can do what we currently do with our talent trees & create different trees for different situations.
People that don’t want a pet can do a little more without a pet, and people that want to keep the pet can still keep the pet. To just baseline “remove pet” from MM is ridiculous, especially for those of us that haven’t BM’d since Cata, when pets actually started holding aggro.
Oh, and bring back pet specs we can select. That was fun.
I’ve cleared every delve on +10, most of those were Bountiful. Does my pet die “instantly”? Not unless I do something dumb, like pull too much at once. Does my pet die? Yea, it happens, when I do something dumb.
Zekvir on Level ??.. Yea, he eats my pet’s face, but he was pretty simple on Level ?. Could I have done that stuff without my pet? Nope. Well, maybe, but it would have taken longer and required a lot more CC, FD, etc.
If I remember correctly vengence was a buff that all tanks were given due to threat being a big issue back then. It was fun while it lasted being able to choose which spec you wanted to use for tanking as a DK.
no…most MM hunters don’t seem to be very happy with this. go take a look at all the threads: here and on the ptr forums. also, don’t be too sure you’ll have a lot of imput into a cookie-cutter pet that pops out every so often based on your haste and cooldowns. mages lost their ice elemental for a version that is on a cast-time rotation; he doesn’t have a lot of variety with throughput. he’s an automatic pewpewpew for a bit and then poof…gone. hunter sentinel hero tree aleady has an owl that does that…not looking forward to this at all.
This statement is so true, lmao.
Its the epitome of “you think you do but you don’t” meme that blizzard made themselves into
BM doesn’t play like MM does, and for most of us who prefer MM, it’s because that playstyle is more fun for us. I play my MM main primarily as PVE solo, so my pet is always out. My BM hunter alt gets dusted off occasionally, but he’s at the bottom of my alt list because he’s not as much fun, IMHO. And Surv isn’t even vaguely the same playstyle.
I’ve been paying more attention in game and almost every mm hunter I’ve seen has their pet out in the open world. I don’t know who these posters are here gaslighting us about ‘no MM hunters use their pets…ever’. Are they elitist jerks or just hate pets and want the rest of us to fall in line?
True. Every MM hunter I saw the other day when I was zipping around doing old quests had a pet out. Granted, I didn’t see like a packed city of players but it definitely wasn’t dead either. So no it’s not your imagination.
I had a thought, what if we remove the eagle and replace it with a pet tied to your call pet 1 slot (which can be changed at the stables). While out of combat your pet will be by your side. When combat starts your pet disappears only to appear when you use a “spotter’s” ability. You still lose all the abilities with the pet and they become non-target, but at the very least you still look like you have it out.
genuine question, since this isn’t the first of these threads I’ve seen. why do you want to play MM as opposed to BM or even surv if the pet is that important to you? I’m not trying to say you’re wrong for wanting to have your pet, I’m genuinely curious what makes MM with a pet more appealing than BM or surv with a pet.
Imo, it’s a matter of personal choice, likes and dislikes. From what I’ve read there are people who are fine switching between specs, seems they dont’ really have a preference for a particular spec.
In my case, I prefer the way MM works. I do most of the damage and my pet is there to assist. I love that feeling of being in control. With BM, it feels like your pet is doing much of the damage and it’s your job to direct them. SV is melee and I really struggle with those kinds of specs, I tried SV and didn’t find it worked well for me.
fair enough. I prefer focusing on my pet, and like having 2 of them out with me. me ooga booga, like cuddle fuzzy (or not fuzzy) friend.
There’s a lot presently.
SV is melee only.
BM is pet with a touch of ranged dps.
MM is more ranged DPS with a touch of pet.
I guess I don’t really pay attention to where my damage is coming from, so long as the enemy health bar is going down. I guess I never really thought that might matter to some people.
That is the ‘touch’ I refer to. You can use a pet, and you benefit from doing so in some scenarios, but you’re not normally required to use one. I like that it’s an option.
Tell me you don’t know how bm plays.
For someone so “connected” with a pixel pet giving command seems like it would be a winner.
