They already buffed fire and made changes to frost on the patch. So if they touch anything it will be arcane. You know, since blizz is only capable of doing one thing at a time.

They will keep buffing locks and surv hunters for as long as I don’t play one. The moment I log in with one they will get gutted.

fire was like literally S tier for a while in pve and pvp

Fire Has some key items coming back for season 4. I don’t think they are going to need alot of help. Such as Hyperthread Wristwraps - Item - World of Warcraft (wowhead.com)

Exactly. Fire was top of the game for BfA/Nathria and was arguably the best of the 3 specs for all of Legion and WoD. Why does it need to be the top spec again? Give Arcane or Frost some love.

What I think it comes down to though is that Fire is the only ‘complete’ spec. It was designed to be played, and while it’s not my personal cup of tea and certainly has its flaws it is clearly the dev favourite.

Arcane and Frost on the other hand are too simplistic on paper (not saying this makes them easy). Arcane is 1 button, watch the blue bar, hit the other button, Oh a shiny! Frost is even more basic in terms of gameplay, with 1 filler and 2 procs. Frost can lose or gain 20% on a parse based entirely on proc RNG. Because of this, Blizzard won’t let them shine on anything outside of niche fights (though Fire is usually still strong there, and no other spec has to fill a niche).

It’d be nice to see a different spec take the lead, but that isn’t going to happen without big changes in 10.0 with the new talent trees and design.

This is a very accurate description of “traditional” arcane. Kyrian Arcane Harmony Arcane has got a lot more going on than the past versions of the spec, hell it’s basically a different spec it plays so differently. It’s very fun actually, it’s just not great, it’s basically just a worse fire for raiding, outside of Andy. Wish they would give the spec some love, Kyrian arcane is an absolute blast to play.

Not saying it isn’t going to be good, but you’re probably overestimating it. Even if the bracers are highly likely to be best in slot, they aren’t going to be nearly as good as they were in BfA.

Extended combustion with extended infernal cascade and twice the amount of pyros sound pretty good to me, granted not as good as BFA but might give the warlocks a run for the money.

My raid lead and i are gearing, he is gearing his alt lock and im gearing my main a mage.

The power boost i have watched him go from 7k dps on aoe to 20k aoe at 256 ilevel


Me being equivalant 256 ilevel i pull 4k to 5k on aoe packs because im built for single target.

Burst on bosses i push 13 to 14k with 7 to 10k sustained depending on the boss while he does roughly the same.

Fire needs help in the aoe department. Im venthyr and refuse to go night fae.
