And this is why I do campaign. And a few holiday events.
I’ve been playing classic lately. People talk and communicate there. Genuinely ask for help. Concepts lost in retail
I gifted someone 1 gold in classic . It was like I gave someone in retail 1 million gold. Felt good.

Blizzard developers may not care. Clearly you do not care. The idea that there is no one in the game who cares is beyond unlikely.
It’s not M+ that’s inherently the problem, it’s how players have chosen to evolve the pug scene. In a pug M+ or raid (or even arena/bg), you are there at the pleasure of the leader to help them get what they want. That’s it. That’s the system that players have decided that they want to operate under.
There are other, much better ways to do the content, but it would seem that putting in any more than bare minimum effort is too much, which is a mentality that has it’s roots in LFD.

That’s where you get it wrong.
Beginners aren’t supposed to do keys AT ALL.
Stick to learning your class, playing old content, and going no further than M0 or Normal raids, until you’re more seasoned.
Heck, I’ve played since 2011 and I still don’t do keys.
I’m sorry for your bad experience. M+ is the worst community in this game and moderation is literally non-existent. Hope you’ll find a better game out there. Good luck.

That’s what I like to do though. So when PvP and dungeons are in a bad spot, I simply stop playing it. It is just a game at the end of the day. I think most long-term WoW players have had a healthy share of breaks… or at least they should =)
“Unintentional design” is not design, which is why I specified it was a byproduct - an unintentional effect. You can complain all you want, but I clearly stated it’s the result of a playerbase that can’t handle cooperative content, not Blizzard’s design. Blizzard can’t correct emotional immaturity.
You can’t blame others for your improper use of terminology to attribute fault to Blizzard’s development team when this is something out of their hands.
It is a game. Players like me, the questers and crafters keep the game going. We are the bread and butter. We are always there paying our subscriptions. We watch TV and read books, listen to music and play Warcraft. Life can be good.

TWW S1 was very punishing and its easier to notice tank and healers mistakes than DPS. I am expecting this season to be more chill (at least with lower keys).
About community toxicity, it is not just DPS that are like that, its just that they can’t adapt to the game or try something that is different from current meta pulls. Consider sticking to DPS and not have to worry about routing or meeting community expectations.
its a lot like real life, people are jerks. debating how to stop people from being jerks is like trying to turn the sky pink with your mind. adults deal with people each in their own way, some better than others. I choose to just /ignore people and move on, if others want to quit, ok.
You are suppose to be having fun. This is just a game after all.
Toxicity is normal when the game is very competitive.
Play an easy game. How can people be toxic when the game is too easy?
Leaving the game for a while is just good for you. I did a couple times in all those years, i come back for a few months and leave again.
The game is way more fun on small doses
And fock M+
And fock elitists
Take care !

WoW is an easy game, the way I play it. Solo mostly, completing random objectives whether catching all the pets in an xpac or fishing up one of each. I gear where I can, don’t stress the numbers, just go in and have fun. If it’s not fun (losing too many battlegrounds in a row) then trounch off to do something else. There’s lots of things to do.
To the OP: lol @ 4 months. You need more perseverence to play this game. Most of us are 20 year players. Hope you find something fun to do!
in case it hasnt been suggested to you OP, if you want to get better at playing wow, try proving grounds at mist of pandaria
i had experienced proving grounds when i returned to wow and imo it teaches wow gameplay to new players better than any other wow activities
Oh, please, you don’t jump in mythics after two months and just immediately start playing keys, expecting everybody to bow down to your experience.
Please have patience. Learn the game learn how to play, get better. I’m not saying be great immediately or get good what I’m saying is everything takes time you can’t just start playing the game and immediately jump into the hardest content holy crap.
EDIT: developers do not listen to this. These are the posts that make the game worse when you bow down to them.
Yep game is toxic and I can’t imagine new players sticking around. Thanks for sharing this!!!

Perhaps don’t focus on raiding? There are many other activities you may choose to do playing wow. Level professions, explore, do quests, PvP, work on reputation, etc.
Personally, I enjoy exploring, doing quests, gathering (herbalism & skinning) and yes… even fishing! I like the specializations available in herbalism and skinning. These specializations allow more processing of herbs and skins that equal more $$$ in AH. I only returned to wow on Feb 10 and just hit level 70 a few days ago - so much more to learn about and explore!
NET - There is a LOT to do and still experience fun in wow that does not involve raiding.

Thinking that there is no expectations of DPS is rather funny, thank you, needed that
It is the only spec that can be useless for 80-90% of a Key and still time it.
