Heh my farewell post said “this game sux”
I literally said different, not better. I also closed with “I wholeheartedly believe it’s a necessary system for the health of the game.” What’s the point in responding to something I did not say?
You’ll be back. They always come back.
You just need a break :).
Shadowlands is the quite good.
Go to you
Yeah, its pretty big so I’ll give it a hard pass. See you on the next patch when you recover from your burn out.
Nobody asked.
Whether or not they actually read the feedback, this is a place for that feedback. Players are asked to post it here; YOU are not asked to validate that feedback. Nobody is interested in your aversion to feedback. Quit complaining about the posts. If you don’t like what the forums are for, stop posting on the forums
I could just as easily tell you you aren’t going to get any gold stars for brown nosing Blizzard entering threads doing what you’re doing, and they’ve “fobbed you” into thinking you should be doing forum moderation for free on their behalf. But you don’t actually moderate anything, you just come off as salty.
Quit about a month into the expansion, myself. I truly feel you. I’ve been playing Classic and Warmane WotLK a lot and I find it much easier to let 8 to 10 hours slip by on my days off. It never really feels like a chore like Shadowlands does and BfA did.
I’m really tired of expansions not being worth playing until after they remove features nobody ever wanted (such as that conduit energy thing I’m hearing about) and until the devs stop withholding features people DO want, such as flying.
I’m tired of the endless rep/currency grinds and the arbitrary timegates that come with them.
You say this. But also say…
It’s amazing how rose tinted googles let players ignore things like argent or sons of hodir. Badges or the fact that the entire ICC raid was timegated.
Why should he delete his account or uninstall the game from his computer? I retired from EQ 7 years ago. I have no intentions of ever going back but it’s still installed on my computer which is in another room, and my account is not deleted. My account is actually silver, meaning I can still log in if I want to, but my character’s gear is worthless since I’m not a paying subscriber and her gear is all from raids.
It would be crazy to delete the account and lose everything if there was a sliver of a chance of ever coming back.
You’ll be back for 9.1.
Repeatable tasks existing doesn’t mean that’s all there is to do. WotLK, for someone not doing strictly high end end game content, has worlds more to do than Shadowlands. While it has its share of daily hubs, there are other challenging and engaging areas of the game to enjoy that just don’t exist in todays versions of WoW.
It isn’t “rose tinted glasses,” that terms has been beaten and abused ever since the Blizzard Insulation Task Force got a hold of it.
That’s the issue. People do these kind of posts like saying they are going to be free by quitting the game only for them returning in one or two weeks or next patch.
I’m sorry to see you go, we are losing so many of the longtime players. I’ve only been playing since Easter 2009 but I’m starting to feel the same. Even when I do log on, I mostly just do stuff in old areas or collect gold to keep the sub going since paying them any money for this current so-called content annoys me.
When I get tired of that or the gold runs out I’ll disable the sub and wait to see if it ever gets fixed. I’m beginning to doubt it, though.
All the best in your future endeavours.
Read your short essay (tldr? are you illiterates kidding?) and enjoyed the read. I understand completely. Got to where you stand in Rift, City of Heroes, Age of Conan, EvE to where I just couldn’t face it anymore. The only game I rode all the way down was Asheron’s Call (with breaks for the aforementioned games) and that last day was a hard one to face.
I’m in sort of a funk as far as WoW goes myself, future undecided. I hear there is an AC private server open, may try it. Maybe I need a Vegas run.
Good luck to you…
Name them.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Well written post explaining why you are leaving. If it wasn’t for being at home so much due to current world events, I’d probably be with you.
I’ve really found this expansion unenjoyable, but am still having some fun doing old content. I’m going to give classic another try.
I wish you the best of luck and hope you find a game you enjoy.
Well, if something grabs their attention, then that’s great and we should welcome him back. I’m sure you never said anything final and changed your mind, right? hehe
I actually just came back in December after leaving during WotLK. While the game doesn’t hit the same, mostly due to me not having a core group like I used to run with, I actually like the current state of the game and enjoy both the raid and M+ (which is a new concept to me). A a Spriest it is difficult to find groups but I’m enjoying myself. I wish you well and hope you find what it is you’re looking for. Great post that brought back a lot of nostalgia.
I couldnt have said it better myself!!!
