Yes, as they should be disparaged because complaining about a change in a video game that you can either A. Circumvent and use a slightly different yet same concept loot system B. Go play another version that has this loot system or C. Just use the new loot systems…. And you have been complaining about this for 2 years… Yes, you are an immature person who needs to grow up and just play the video game.
Buddy there’s no way you didn’t understand what he was talking about. So yes, either you really are that dull or you’re just being immature and acting like you don’t know what he’s talking about.
He’s talking about people complaining about GDKP. He is saying that instead of whining and crying and posting on alts to astroturf every single forum topic that pops up about a change you dislike he is just going to accept the change as a change he doesn’t like and just play the game.
I mean sorry if I was too blunt, but I think it’s fairly obvious what he’s talking about here. Every single thread for the past two years is overtaken by the same 3 people complaining about GDKP so I just thought it was fairly obvious.
I tend to take people’s comments at face value. And in this case, my posts in this thread (from my perspective at least) may make that obvious on a re-read.
I suppose your comment about it not being that serious could have been a clue that the OP was making a satirical post about GDKP, while inadvertently attacking people for complaining about a thing he doesn’t like and simultaneously doing nothing about that thing (something that may have been overlooked for the sake of the “joke?”).
In some contexts, I suppose this thread could be described as being “disingenuous” though that may have negative connotations making it unlikely to be received well, if described as such.
Personally, I was quite disappointed with the recent changes to Era, and I know that Tubbly had taken a break and just gotten back, so perhaps my personal feelings towards the issue, as well as my generally analytical and quite often overthinking mind in combination with my tendency to take people’s statements at face value caused me to miss the forest for the trees (if that’s even how that saying works).
Yea it was pretty obvious. Gdkp’s have been banned the entirety of anniversary and blizz hasn’t even hinted they’re coming back, but frosty and afkbuyer still dominate every single thread arguing gdkp’s must stay banned.
Honestly yeah it goes both ways. You shouldn’t be spamming for GDKP to be removed in ERA and you shouldn’t be spamming to have GDKP ban removal for anniversary. Just play the game.
No one is making threads claiming GDKP needs to stay banned in anni though, let’s be at least a little honest with ourselves.
It sounds like most folks got what I was getting at and now you’re in the know. No harm, no foul.
Having some fun at GDKP posters expense aside, and without intending to bias towards, or away from, GDKP…
I would say that if Blizzard’s justification for a GDKP ban is that items should not be awarded for money, I would expect them to apply that policy consistently across all in-game communities where those policies are in effect.
It seems as though Blizzard has been pretty lax in enforcement, but I also haven’t looked that hard. I’m fortunate in that I play on a server environment that aligns with my expectations for video games and community.
This is how it is. Blizz banned gdkp’s and washed their hands of actually policing RMT, bots, selling items for real money, and even gdkp work arounds. and packed the entire playerbase onto two servers so the bots and gold sellers don’t have to make characters on 30+ different servers.
Never seen gold buying so openly talked about in discords and guilds.
You literally do not play with other people enough for it to even matter to you.
I am going to call you out every time I see you type such nonsense too. You have a lot of opinions for somebody who barely even plays Era. If you can even call it playing.
By the way they worded the GDKP ban, these should also 100% be a bannable offense. As they should be. If people are selling HRs they need to be banned.
Sadly there is no way to enforce it. People do all the “deals” outside the game. And if Blizz ever questions it the person can just say they HR’d it for their friend for free.
I always buy game time off the shop instead of subbing and I had been out of game time for like a week and seriously debated letting it go for awhile since I was spending over $30 to do five AVs every two months. Obviously I caved.
But of course I bought another two months worth of time like hours before the announcement. If not for that blunder I would be gone already. Era was wiped in favor of Anniversary and then is insulted further by having their servers cannibalized to do it because TBC folie a deux.
I almost can’t blame Blizz here - the real gangsta Era players are in such a tiny minority its actually a hindrance for them - or no hindrance at all as it turns out.
I just got done logging in and using alts, asking horde and alliance on various servers what they thought of the situation. I can’t lie, it was unanimous in favor of dual specs in pretty much every case. I did find some like minded players though.
Not that I was surprised by it but what I took particular note of was ummm how “aggressive” people got over it. Like just asking about it was personally threatening and put most people into fight or flight and saying the stupidest stuff - honestly I am embarrassed its taken me this long.
No one really wants to play vanilla WoW. Yknow, just like Brack said - it was Blizz’s major reason for not wanting to do it originally. Turns out they were right and this is just nature self correcting by solving the you think you do but you don’t puzzle box. The modern day WoW player can’t handle vanilla - its literally not casual enough for them despite being the original Fisher Price MMORPG.
