The keyword being almost.
Let’s start with the good part and it’s dragon flying. Because of dragon flying being available so early (I think I got mine at Lv. 61 or 62), you can easily keep playing with WM on even if you’re being ganked and you don’t wanna deal with it, as you just can simply just resurrect and fly off somewhere else. This, is great.
Now, what makes playing with WM on still annoying… and particularly while levelling, is that for whatever reason, tons of quest hubs are still missing guards. I’m talking about all these towns and villages around the world that have loads of NPC’s; questgivers, profession trainers, even innkeepers. Yet… no guards to be seen. So, while I’m exploring a new town, I always have a target on my back, and god forbid I should take even a minute to read some dialogue because odds are some 70 or a group of people are going to charge me… yep, this happened more than once already. It makes me feel more safe out in the wildlife, unironically, as at least there I’m already on my guard. And yes, I’ve been ganked less out in the world questing than I have running around in quest hubs… coincidence maybe but still. But yeah, while I’m exploring a town, next to all these NPC’s, I can’t help but feel like I should be somewhat safe… yet I’m not. Makes it annoying to level with WM on still as I would like to at the very least explore the new quest hubs I arrive at, in peace.
Can we add guards to all quest hubs in future expansions or perhaps add an easier way to toggle WM on/off (perhaps not needing to go to SW/Org to turn it on again?)
