So... lets discuss LFR deserter

So I queue for LFR, it throws me into a raid where the first boss is dead. We kill the 2nd and 3rd. I queue again because Im missing the 1st boss kill, we kill it and OBVIOUSLY I leave, why the hell would I stay to waste time on 2nd and 3rd again with no rewards. And now I got Dungeon Deserter for 30mins.

Who’s the genius developer who came up with that idea? Care to elaborate on why you thought anyone would want to waste their time like that?

Because if people only queued to kill specific bosses, then the raid would take 10x longer.

Is that the change they made in response to all the people leaving after the first boss of ara kara? That’s dumb.

Let’s not forget that by forcing you to stay on bosses you’re loot locked you’re actively harming the rest of the group who isn’t

Yeah, this is one of the few instances where I fully agree deserter should not be applied.

OP killed all three bosses and did a courtesy for the first group to not leave. Should be rewarded even for joining in progress groups imho

it needs a filler bonus

It’s a side effect of all the people complaining about people leaving 5 mans.

Instead of dealing with it for a week you now have LFR deserter.

Enjoy.

So you did desert your group

Better than actively harming them

We’re being punished for not making the others game worse

No. mathematically it evens out assuming everyone rolls need on everything.

no, it doesn’t

Amount of loot that drops is based on eligible looters, op was not an eligible looter

25 eligible looters = 5 items 100%, each ineligible person drops the chance of a piece by 20%, they start trying to force more and more ineligible people in there the less chance the item an eligible person wants even drops

each person contributes 20% to the next item.

And that’s their share of the loot.

If they were ineligible, less items drop. (4.8) but also less competition for items.

If the OP stayed, it would be better for everyone else, 80% of the time.

less drops means less chance at the piece you want

you WANT 5 drops to get the best chance that the piece you are going for drops

and who says op is the only ineligible person? I usually get 4-5 people dropping after a boss, i would rather they drop, it takes 10 seconds to fill

Less drops with less competition. It evens out.

Imagine if you had 100% chance to get an item from EVERY boss. Would you not take it?

It would get you more loot on average.

if 20 people are loot ineligible, sure it means you have a 20% chance of winning the roll on the 1 item that drops, but you also have a significantly less chance of it being the item you want

The playerbase sadly. Weirdos kept complaining about people leaving 5 mans after the boss they need and now we have this.

Ironically, it’s likely that the same people that were complaining about 5 mans will be the same people that now have to deal with this in LFR.

But just because an item drops, it doesn’t mean you aren’t competing with others to get it.

better to have it drop and lose then less chance of it dropping at all

bosses where you get no loot you can even roll on feel wasted

It’s all the same. Seeing others win loot, doesn’t mean I get it.

Of course excluding bribes which… can work.

we can go around this all day but there are two facts in it

ineligible looters = less loot
and you can’t win loot that doesn’t drop
