I always have and will continue to do my absolute best to create a turtle in AV regardless of which faction I’m playing.
It’s usually pretty easy to do solo or with just a couple of others.

that has to be one of the worst videos ever.
Between the crap music overpowering the sound the lousy display and random people yaking i could stand about 10 seconds of it.
How about something informative?
If you dont have enough PUGs that want to do anything other than race, capping snowfall is the easiest way to force it. Once Stonehearth and Icewing burn it’s all good.
Unless you want to keep reading the people cry about the 2 hour battle on the bridge anyway… which is sometimes also fun =D
IKR that is why i didn’t link it, I had a really good one of a horde crew doing it in 20 minutes with only 5 people talking AT ALL, and they had good music but it was taken down, resolution on it sucked anyway,
Just mute it and watch until they wipe them at galv, that is really all that is relevant from that video.
I always try to have a team cap the Stormpike aid station to avoid the bridge, I love a good bridge fight but pugs are just bad at it you know?
This. Video. Is. Horrible. What am I even looking at? Whats with all that crap all over? Also…
HEADPHONE WARNING NEXT TIME.
I don’t remember anyone racing to kill the boss, successfully, in the early versions of AV. If you don’t take the time to capture the towers and complete objectives the elites left guarding the boss will be too strong.
I remember a lot of wipes from players trying to zerg the boss without completing objectives and capturing GYs. Then having to rez all the way back at the other end of AV and start all over.
We are playing post 1.12 av there are raid teams that can easily down the bosses with all towers and generals up.
maybe that was after vanilla but i remember it for some reason.
Pugs are generally bad at everything. I’m kinda hoping that, considering this is almost 20 year old content, there will be a few more that know what’s going on. Of course, I also thought Horde would eventually hit a critical mass of people that figured out racing in AV is a bad idea…but it never really happened.
I don’t play classic. But I will not be surprised, when people start kicking people out of AV if they are not lvl 60.
It made me want to slit my wrists when they merged my battlegroup in with all the rest and wow suddenly no one knew how to do AV, I would explain it, if i was lead i would set up groups for it and then wouldn’t you know its me and 5-10 hard core pvpers at galv while the rag tag puggies run off to the north to stand outside vans bunker waiting for towers no one burned to burn while the alliance rides to victory. With the inevitable last second ditch pull that fails.
Went from a 90%+ win rate on my main to I don’t even know what in a matter of months. Got so bad i just refused to que it. Would’t even join random ques because I hate PVE BGs.
The real question is whether fighting drawn out games trying to overtake the bridge of doom is faster rep / honor over just ending games quickly. Premades in WSG already avoid long games like the plague; I feel like AV would be the same thing. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Scorched earth/rath strat doesn’t result in bridge fights
By the time your team gets there you have the two southern alliance towers burned and have the aid station contested. the alliance is in complete disaray scattered across the map.
The alliance are the ones dying on the bridge as they desperately try to prevent the last two towers from burning a full minute before the ones in the south are even at risk of burning.
Fighting a drawn out game is not better rep/honor per hour. If you are Horde, though, it’s really the only way you are going to consistently win more than 15 maybe 20% of the time. If you want fast honor, as horde: dont queue AV.
cap towers till burn -> boss = AV
Yeah but the guy said currently. Apples and oranges, I know, but that was just my experience in current WoW.
I fully expect both sides to quickly hit a point that tanks and heals will be able to handle the final boss with multiple towers up. Maybe not till bwl is on farm but PvE dps is already much much higher on average in this raid tier
Its doable now, we just know more now.
Did Blizzard patch the holes in the Horde AV base, or did they keep them in place?
This is pretty much the root of every single issue where people start saying, “But it wasn’t like this in vanilla…”
