So I've gotta ask

I’m sure this topic has come up a number of times but after tonight I’ve gotta at least ask: How…after 20 years…can alliance still be this bad at Alterac Valley? I don’t ask to troll, or to denegrate the alliance but honestly…we’ve had 20 years of this bg and folks still do not even grasp the most basic concepts of the bg.

Every match it is “RUSH RH 100% mounts…60% go Galv”…

Fine and dandy until gasp horde defends the RH. Alliance now arrives at the RH with 4 or 5 people…all tenderized by the tower archers. They die…spawn back at SH…Horde promptly goes to FWGY and murders the 2 or 3 sitting there guarding it.

Horde then sits on the SHbunker chokepoint and proceeds to farm kills.

Tonight I’ve had games where we got 500 honor…horde got 5500. We got 1100 honor. Horde got 4700.

Over and over. Why is it so everloving hard for alliance to adjust to new tactics?

It’s just astounding how bad it has been in the last few days.

/rant off.

Horde have an advantage in AV.

That’s why the cave gets moved and horde no longer res at the cave unless it’s the last res point available.

Alliance can only res 10 at a time to rush into the horde chokepoint, where as horde can res 20 at a time.

Don’t think about winning or losing, just enjoy the battle.

The trick is to stop at icewing and collapse the horde zug.

Then at worse the fight will be reset mid and you take it from there.

But if you’re on anniversary most people are probably just afk for honor so it will just be bad regardless. Come to Era for good AV games.

They backcap everything, feels like grieving. So glad it’s over

I dont know why people insist on pvping in AV, if you wanna pvp go to WSG and AB (coming soon). AV is for PVE players who hate pvp but want the PVP rewards to be used for PVE

I wonder this constantly. We win some sure, but I don’t care retail or classic, horde always seems to have advantage.

I think both sides have equal advantages but because the map isn’t mirrored and the advantages are in different places then in the current meta it is possible one side is able to use more of the available advantages.

Alliance could win every game if they used all the advantages they have.

all that being said the data still shows that the win rate is close to 50% for both sides. Just because you feel something doesn’t make it true

I just want to get into a fresh BG and not zone into one with 3 towers burned and a deadlock turtle

you answered this yourself.

get faster mounts so more people arrive at RH.

the real answer is because alliance simply gives up at the first sign of resistance. its easier to give up and requeue than it is to actually try to pvp and win. and in some merit that is not incorrect.

Same reason people don’t know how to make gold after 20 years.

the good players on alliance finished r11 a while ago, just wait till it unlocks and it will be good again.

que as a group even if the other person doesn’t join

It’s the inability to adapt to the current situation rather than perform predetermined checklist of events. It’s not just alliance, its horde too. Sometimes the alliance meta always beats the horde meta.

your side can put one hunter on the bridge and stop 10 people if they dont FAP. Horde cant do that because there’s 3 ways in the choke and only one of those requires a skilled jump. Your side has two ways in and one of them requires 3 skilled jumps, the other is across the bridge that = death if ONE hunter places a trap down. Why more games dont have a single hunter guarding that bridge on the alliance side i have no idea.

AV is only fun when people have no idea what’s going on and are just killing people at graveyards.

Doing the actual objectives is boring. I’d rather just get carried.

A lot of them probably aren’t bad but just have different goals. Some people enjoy an epic turtle which lasts multiple hours. Some people enjoy going on defense and back capping because it actually involves PvP. Some people just want to max honor per hour. Some people just like to troll and make everyone mad.

You don’t know why people prefer to PvP in what is supposed to be a PvP battleground?

Really?

Uhh no. The map absolutely favors Alliance.

first off, it was a joke but to be real if there were no rewards people who enjoy PVP would not be able to fill an AV 40 man raid group. so even “PVPers” would probably avoid AV if there were no rewards or bonus honor.

second, every advantage the alliance have has an equal and opposite horde advantage by design. For a long time I was like you and felt the alliance had a huge advantage until I realised that horde just dont use the advantages we have. I accept I wont change your mind here but from a design perspective each side has the same amount of choke points and distances to objectives.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

This is such a lie lol.

Sounds to me like the Alliance advantage can be negated with a little preparation.

Tell me, which potion do I need to prevent the Horde (re)spawning in the middle of the map?

That’s actually an advantage for the Alliance. It helps to reduce the duration of a game if an Alliance offensive encounters a big Horde defense. It literally prevents turtles.
