So is Xalatath

still a viable threat, or has she been fully transformed into the “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” anti hero? Genuinely curious.

Enemy of my enemy is my friend until she wears out her use.

Someone we’d clearly be better off killing but is one of the writers pets so she’s ham-fisted into the story.

I’m for killing Alleria.

I side with the Void.

And anti heroes are awesome.

Xal’atath is only there for the plot contrivance.

She is the only entity that can turn us into temporary Ethereals to defeat a Void Lord that kills mortals through mental anguish, which makes you ask how turning us into energy exactly negates that since Ethereals have emotion too.

Just don’t think about it.

Also don’t think about why Venari would build a zoo right on the doorstep of the Void Lord that half-ate her planet.

Clearly, Venari has been dumbed down for the sake of the game play.

That is essentially what she will become. I suppose she is still “technically” a villain but I seriously doubt in 2025 she is going to stay that way. All her bad deeds will be hand waved away or made the fault of some bad guy they will introduce randomly at the end of the arc.

I can guarantee you one thing. If we do have to fight Xal’atath, she won’t have shoes on her loot table.

I suppose toe rings can go into the Feet slot.

Yikes. I’ll need a drill.

After everything we’ve seen from her thus far, you’re wondering if she’s been redeemed?

Far from it. It’s definitely an enemy mine situation, but unlike the Horde and Alliance eventually being able to come to peaceful terms, don’t think for a moment that she’s now our friend. Everyone involved essentially knows they are beyond screwed if they don’t work together this time.

The problem is going to be spotting Xal’s endgame before she goes ahead with it, and I firmly believe that while we’re going to win the fight at the end of TWW (obviously), it WILL lead to a situation where she’s the one with the advantage at the end of it. Whatever happens, we’re clearly playing into her hand.

Viable threat.

She probably wants us to kill Dimensius so she can take its power or something.

Yeah. Even when we are helping her she is manipulating the people she interacts with. And there is no reason to believe she isnt doing the same with us.

It just so happens that we both want the same thing at the moment…but her reasons are likely far more nefarious than she lets on

And yet we let her just change us “temporarily” into a ethereal type being. Like we don’t even call up Khadgar and ask him “uh you think this is safe?”. Nope we just let her fundamentally restructure our physical bodies without so much as even asking about the side effects.

The writing for 11.2 is the worst yet.

To be fair, Alleria is 100% against it and tells us not to do it. But we get hit with the fomo argument…its now or never.

So its not like everyone wants to go along with it. Just the brokers, ethereals, and Xal who have the most to gain.

Agreed. It is the “your character has to be dumber than a pile of bricks for the story to progress” part that I take offense to. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

I think it’s all been spoiled at this point…

But, yeah, in short she is not our friend…

Even though as a Warlock and member of the Horde, I enjoy working with her far more than the Void Elves, or Jaina or literally any other Alliance stooge.

Not our character, but Alleria, she’s an absolute moron. Our character goes along with whatever we’re told because we have no free will or agency… in an RP game of all places.

Hopefully everyone had the same moment of surpise and disgust when she started calling us “My Champion”…even though that only seemed to last for a few quests

She apparently has her own motivation which is probably akin to the same storyline as the Jailer.

Perfectly on point for her character.

Then again, as a Warlock I’d probably side with her either way, so being called her champion wouldn’t seem strange.
