So is the Overlord from diabolist going to get fixed?

There are multiple examples of this minion once summoned he charges to the mob and just stands there trying to get his attack off but just can’t… feels like a hit box issue maybe?

As of the bosses I’ve done of the current raid, these following are KNOWN to be bugged with overlord:
-Ulgrax

-bloodbound horror

-Sikran

-Rasha’nan

-Bloodtwister Ovi’nax

-Anub’arash & Skeinspinner Takazj

This bug is consistently happening to every mob that is “big”. Considering raid bosses are “big” 99% of the time, Overlord will be a dead ability every raid tier of this expansion until it is fixed.

Thanks for posting this! This was exactly what I wanted to add to the post!

  • Overlord will now use an alternative attack if there are no available paths for charging. There should be no difference in throughput between the alternative attack and his current attack.

Looks like this has been addressed on the PTR.

Here’s hoping the “charge” includes his swing animation as he seems to finish his charge everytime, just not finish his swing animation. Hoping this is pushed out relatively soon for this tier as well.

Hmm interesting so I went into the PTR and tested this…he still just stands there trying to get off a cleave or something but at the very end he does an “attack animation” but still does no damage at all lol…they should just make this minion do some kind of ranged attack…Fel Fissure/Fel Eruption perhaps from General Xakal(a fel lord btw from legion xpac).

Lol they didn’t get rid of his cast animation for cleave. That’s the problem.

I don’t see melee characters charging and then proceed to try to cast a melee animation with a 1.2 secs cast time on it :rofl:.

Just make him throw his axe if he can’t find a path to charge. Could still do a wind up animation and then just launch the axe in an aoe. I don’t know why they’re making this so complicated.

I can also confirm this as well.

Thought I was going nuts. My guild just raided and not once did the Overlord attack the bosses.

I had to switch specs because diabolist is just feels broken for raids.

Yeah Blizzard really should make this a priority in a hotfix. There’s no chance this should be pushed out till 11.0.5.

It would also be nice if these summoned creatures would attack your target rather than the nearest enemy.

Yeah there are some weird situations in dawnbreaker where they just smack the nearest webbed victim. Targeting AI is wonky in that dungeon.

It seems as of yesterday, this Overlord bug has been fixed. It correctly procced and hit every boss in the raid last night. Has anyone seen the bug since? Otherwise happy this was fixed prior to the 20th anniversary patch

I think the funniest example of this that I’ve seen was in Ashran when a mother of chaos decided a demonic gateway was a viable target. They really need better target selection priorities.

I ran Diabolist tonight and can confirm Overlord was doing his job. I still think that his wind up animation attack pattern should be changed to something less wonky, but I’ll take it actually working.
