Free stats for being able to dual wield. Where does that leave the rest of us? I can’t exactly enchant an offhand. Why is it okay for say a warrior, to be able to get so much free stats just because of their weapons?
because they have 2 weapons
Why is it fair for a 2Her to only need 1 weapon drop, but a DWer 2?
Why is it fair for a ranged to attack from a distance, but a melee to need to be point blank?
I wish only staffs dropped for me. But like you I also have to deal with offhands. The difference between a warrior and me is they get to enchant both their weapons, I can’t.
Also, we’re talking about the weapons being enchanted. This is a stupid thing to bring up.
Hey, im currently using a 1h and offhand, yet I can’t enchant the offhand.
Why is it stupid?
DW melee are balanced around 2 weapons.
Ranged are balanced around doing damage from a distance.
We used to be able to enchant offhands.
Just one of the many customization aspects of the game lost to time.
If I recall, you could enchant offhands before as a ranged. So yes, it’s a stupid thing to bring up.
oh look.
So now melee get an insane amount of free stats for free for no reason.
Off hand / shield enchants were minor compared to weapon enchants.
There is a reason. You just don’t like it.
Shadow Priest is already the top DPS class in the game for raiding. Clearly they don’t need it.
Only ones that benefit from this are: Fury Warriors, rogues, Enhancement Shaman, monks (mostly windwalker) and demon hunters. DKs have their runeforges.
The thing about weapon enchants is most, if not all, of them are proc based. Also, they have to use different enchants as the procs don’t stack.
In essence, melee don’t get an insane amount of “free stats” as all flat stat increases are still on rings, which everyone gets and any weapon enchants are procs that provide the same amount of a stat that don’t stack with the same enchant (like rogues might want 1 force multiplier but the other one will have to be a navigation of some kind)
Classes that dual wield are balanced around dual wielding.
You’re main hand and offhand gives you way more main stat than dual wielders get, keep that in mind.
Forgive me, but isn’t the enchant used on the staff the same you put on the int 1h?
So what you’re really asking is for 1h/oh to be bis and staff to be subpar? And to have your dps/hps balanced around access to two enchants?
I mean sure, but it sounds like a net loss to me. Have to always find two slots, have to enchant both, using staff is gimping yourself, class nerfs. What’s the upside again?
Why do you view it as a bad thing? They balance the specs however they see fit. If you had a 2nd enchant, you wouldnt be more effective, your spec would have just been balanced based on that.
Just look it as saving yourself the trouble of needing a 2nd enchant, and move on with your life without griping about every stupid thing you can think of.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure the autoattack accuracy penalty still applies, so there is a hidden cost for two weapons
Their ability numbers and passives are also adjusted for the extra stats: Fury War does solid damage but they are out DPS’d by a number of classes despite two enchants and inflated stats from two 2H weapons
