My friend whom i won’t say who was recently banned for the name Kukulkan, which he was going for the mesoamerican deity , the same which is referenced heavily culturally in wow’s lore. based on someone thinking it has anything to do with a organization of hate and racism.
After pleading his case to blizzard customer service the ban was upheld , as so [full post on Reddit wow] basically said the name was too close to the organization of pointed hat people and even though he was well within the TOS was still banned and still waiting, being a lover of the rich heritage of trolls and Zandalari myself it got me thinking , since Hakkar is so closely related to Kukulkan in lore is Hakkar a symbol of racism and if so are we going to silence history based culture based on what is close to or sounds like?
exert from wow’s Hakkar wowwiki page. “Physically, Hakkar seems to resemble the Mesoamerican deity “Quetzalcoatl” or “Kukulkan,” both of which can be translated “Feathered Serpent”. This fits in with certain aspects from troll architecture and culture, which resemble those of the Aztec and Maya, both of whom revered the Feathered Serpent.”
